I have a 2016 Kia optima I purchased from this dealer. I started to have engine problems and wanted the law suite recall to be performed. I was advised my car was not in need of any repairs. 6 months later still have the engine knocking problem as well as oil consumption. The tech was nice but said they needed to do a test to dignose the problem that would cost $600+. I was advised by an attorney its a known problem with Kia and is covered. Spoke to corporate and they called service manager and he refused to fix the problem without me paying the $600+. Do not buy anything from Kirby Kia of Ventura pre certified means nothing suposobly they have a 10 year 1,000 mile warranry but will not honor it.

      M****** *****,
Upon reviewing the documents pertaining to your vehicle, you had your vehicle here for a ticking issue. It was determined that the cause was due to low oil in the motor. After servicing your vehicle which included an oil change, the ticking noise went away. The recall you are referring to has to do with a bearing knock, which your vehicle did not have. Your vehicle may have an oil consumption issue which is not part of the recall you are referencing. Kia has put into place a process that we, as a Dealership, must follow to determine how much oil your vehicle is actually consuming. The first step in this process is confirming whether there is an oil consumption issue. The next step is diagnosing (determining) the cause. Neither of these steps are covered by Kia's Certified Pre-Owned warranty. If it is determined the vehicle has an oil consumption issue, we would submit our findings to Kia Certified Pre-Owned adjusters and they would determine whether the repair is covered under their warranty. I hope this clarifies this for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
      Respectfully,
      D**** ********
