Elite Rooter came to the house and heard our situation, that there was some water backed up, they told him BEFORE snaking that it would be $269.00, not the $69 advertised on their website. He said they would need to dig in the front yard and it was now $8,767.95. He told my husband we could finance it with a 15 year loan, with a 14.9 percent interest rate. They dug up both sides of the yard and could not find the line. The next day they said the problem was really in the basement. We were not getting clear answers to our questions.
At this point I got financing through my bank and told them I was approved and the money was coming. We felt harassed. We got several phone calls from both Brooks and Connor saying we had to take the 15 year loan. They threatened to put a lien on the house.
We showed a picture of the jack hammering in our basement to another contractor and he said it’s the worst job he’s ever seen.
Our final meeting was supposed to be at 4:30 and he didn’t show up until almost 7pm. Brooks was very argumentative and was still not answering questions. I was asked by Brook to sign a blank page on his iPad. I asked what I was signing. I was lied to and told it was that the job was done. We did not get a final walk through of what work was done, we did not get an explanation of what work was done, we are not satisfied with the work that was done!! They broke our gate and said they would fix it, they didn’t. They pulled out a large bush that they said they would put back in, they didn’t. We question if they really did any work or they just made something up to make money. After paying in full I was told they would email the pics and video. Several days went by and I called and left a message, no response. I called Connor- no response. It took 3 weeks to get pics and we still have not received a video.Business Response

Dion who works for this company quoted me $1,800 to clear my drain in my side yard. I said I do not have $1,800 so we agreed on $1,400. I gave him $1000 in cash and I said to put $400 on my credit card to pay the rest. Never got any paperwork or a receipt for my $1,000 given to him in cash. They proceed to tear up my side yard with a jack hammer to break up all the concrete while I was out of town on top of leaving cigarettes everywhere. Got a charge for $6,000 on my credit card and stating that I owe him a total of $14,000. Complete scam. Wouldn't get off my property after I called him and asked him to leave. Threatens me with a text message saying he will put a "lean" on my house when he can't even spell lien correctly. I had to call the cops to have him removed off my property. The company sent me paperwork after they charged my credit card which I have never seen before nor did I sign. Also sent me a cancelation policy a day after it was expired which I had also never seen before. Called my retired plumber who got the job done in 2 hours and cleared my drain without having to destroy anything and charged me $650. He told me what this company did was a complete scam and are known for doing this to people. I have called the company yet no one has called me back. I keep getting a lady named Ashley who says she is only the dispatcher and will have someone call me back which never happens. I can't stress enough about how awful this company is and how they should not be in business.Business Response

In July of 2023, we contracted Elite Rooter to solve a sewage overflow at our home. They diagnosed the problem and said it was because of our old cast iron pipes that were deteriorated. They quoted us $18,000 to do a trenchless pipe burst to solve the problem. We got a loan from Synchrony to do the job.
The company dug under our bathroom and attempted to do the pipe burst but had issues. They punched a 12"x12" hole in my shower to try and get the pipe through, but it still didn't work. They also damaged my walls in the pipe burst. Finally, they decided not to do the pipe burst and to install a pipe liner instead. However, I never saw photos or proof of the liner.
A month later, the toilet stopped flushing properly. It now takes multiple flushes even to get toilet paper down. And now I have to replace not just the floor as expected, but all of the tile in my shower because of the unnecessary hole they put in it.
I asked the company for the following:
1. A detailed, itemized receipt of all of the actual work that was done at my property.
2. A check to compensate me for damages to my property done in the failed pipe burst.
3. Photos of the finished work where I can see the new liner in my pipe.
4. A copy of my warranty for the liner that was installed.
I have reached out via phone and email four times each. Each time I call, the secretary tells me to send an email to management. Each time, no one responds.Business Response

We have provided this customer with all that she is asking aside from a refund. As the work was completed and no refund is due. We have records to show all times invoices which also outlines the warranty in the scope of work section. They have been emailed, 07/26/2023, 07/27/2023, 08/24/2023, 09/07/2023. Additionally, the customer wanted an itemized breakdown, which was emailed on 08/24/2023. She then was sent a plumbers report on 09/07/2023. We have also sent out technicians to address any concerns from the customer. With the first time being 08/11/2023 (set toilet) , 09/08/2023 ( Pick up debris/pipe), and most recently 11/29/2023 ( toilet not flushing.) On this last claim, our technician found nothing wrong. At this time, there is nothing to be addressed or refunded.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:- the invoices the business claims they provided to me were for the pipe burst they did not perform, not the liner that was ultimately installed
- therefore the “warranty” is for the non-existent pipe burst, not the liner
- the “itemized breakdown” was for the nonexistent pipe burst, not the liner
- the company severely damaged my shower and walls in my house, which cost thousands to repair. The most recent technician (11/29) documented this damage and said someone would contact me about it. No one contacted me.

On April 4, 2022, the main cast iron sewer line at the front of our house broke. We contacted Elite Rooter, who came out and capped the line at the kitchen, re-routed the piping outside the house, and installed a Liberty Pump Grinder. However, on November 13, 2023, the pump stopped working. Elite Rooter returned to investigate and determined that the pump they had installed was too small for our needs. They informed us that we would need to purchase a larger pump and pay for the labor to install it. We were given the option to purchase the pump ourselves or have Elite Rooter procure it for us, but they advised that it would be significantly cheaper if we purchased it ourselves.
Because of Elite Rooter's expertise, we believe that the error in pump selection is their responsibility. We are willing to pay the difference in cost between the smaller pump and the one that should have been installed initially. However, we do not feel that we should be charged for labor costs associated with correcting their mistake. Therefore, we will not be utilizing Elite Rooter for the pump replacement. We will instead find another company to install the larger pump, which we will purchase ourselves.Business Response

I own an end unit of a tri-plex with no HOA. At around 8pm on 10/29, I flushed my toilet in the basement and water came out of the bolts of the toilet. I left the issue until the morning and contact both of my attached neighbors who were both also experiencing a sewer backup. The middle unit (Maria- 1063), had her brother call Elite Rooter who came out around 11am on 10/30. I left work to go home to also speak with them and had the other neighbor come home, too. I don't know what this company told Maria inside her house, but when they came out and I talked to them they told me the metal pipe has rusted out at the bottom, there was a waterfall where all three service lines met and that action has made the situation worse. He cleaned her service line (I saw the video proof the next day from a reputable plumber) and camera'ed the line. He showed us a "video" on his cell phone as "proof" of the issue. He quoted the three of us a price of $8300 to do a spot repair, 10' out from the foundation, installing a double cleanout and replacing the concrete driveway. I emailed him to get an email of what that quote includes. I heard nothing back. From what Maria has said he overcharged her by several hundred dollars and I want to get that money back for her. He refused to send her an invoice and she's had trouble contacting him. On 11/2 Maria called another plumber who camera'ed the lines while I was present for the whole thing, explaining there is NOTHING WRONG. The pipe is not rusted. There is no need for an $8300 repair. My neighbor is a Spanish-speaker and there is no way she would file this herself, so I'm assisting her. I also work for a municipality issuing right of way permits for sewer work and I don't ever want to see this company show up on a permit here, scamming others out of there money for work that doesn't need to be done.Business Response

I am writing to follow up on your request for a refund for the recent plumbing work that was completed at your property.
I understand that you are unhappy with the fact that your pipe was not broken, but I want to assure you that our technicians did clear a blockage in the line. We have documentation to support this, and we would be happy to provide it to you upon request.
The only charges that you received were for the clearing of the line, which was completed successfully. Additionally, the technician and division manager who worked on your job are both Spanish speakers, so there was no miscommunication.
Therefore, we are unable to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:They’re a shady company and the fact that they tried to tell us we needed an $8300 repair to something that wasn’t broken. They responded to no emails I sent them asking for quotes. They didn’t respond to the homeowner who also asked for an invoice. Where is the report of the video footage they filmed claiming there is a massive issue with our plumbing? I’m fine they won’t give a refund but they need to stop their lying. I have reported them to the local news and will post about them in the local Facebook groups.

Plumbers completed work and I had to pay upfront. In order to get reimbursed by my home insurance the plumbers had to provide a detailed plumbers report to me. I have been waiting a month and cannot get a hold of anyone from the company that can help me. We call weekly to try to get the report to no avail. We paid them and feel that they should be able to hold up their end of the agreement and provide the plumbers report we need.Business Response

On September 26, 2023, I hired Elite Rooters to perform some plumbing work. As part of the scope of this work, they were to install a washing machine drain pan. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete this work as the pan I had provided would not fit. I had shown the technician the drain pan I had wanted installed prior to any quote being provided or start of any work. They were aware of the size of the pan and where it was to be installed, but were unable to complete the job they agreed to. The technician told me to call when I had one that was the right size and he would be back to finish the job. Since that time, I have made around five phone calls requesting to speak with a technician to discuss follow-up work as I had some questions. I have also sent an email ton them that has gone unanswered.Business Response

In March 2023. I called Elite to resolve a sewer back up. The technician stated it was a broken pipe were it connects to the house. To repair this and to do Pipe Bursting ( suggested to prevent damage but not needed) He set up a credit card account on my name for $9600.00. No job contract was provided to me ever Soon I realized the poor experience of the only worker and the horrible quality of the job, part is visible from the front of my house. I reached out to the company but It was pointless to speak to them. Synchrony Bank made a full payment to Elite. I opened a dispute, but for 4 months there is no answer from Elite and the bank is asking me to make payments. Now I have water coming out into the garage floor, evidence of damage to the pipe line caused by Elite Rooter. Please help me to recover my money and to resolve this problem. Sincerely; M**** *****Business Response

To whom it may concern,
On March 27th, we responded to a request for emergency plumbing services from this client. They reported there was "dirty water coming up into bathtub". We then performed a complimentary camera inspection and found the orange burb pipe was compromised and would need to be replaced. On 3/28/2023 we presented the customer with an estimate for plumbing services totaling $9577, and the customer signed for services an made the decision to apply for financing through an independent financing company - Synchrony Financial. Please find the signed contract attached. As a courtesy, Elite Rooter provided the customer's insurance company with an insurance breakdown of the plumbing services in an effort to help her recoup some of her money. The services provided to M**** ***** come with a 20 year warranty on the work performed, and we would be happy to send a technician to her home to diagnose the plumbing issues she is experiencing at no charge . If the current plumbing issues are related to any work performed by Elite Rooter, they will be taken care of at no charge to the customer.

I am rejecting this response because: the issue was a broken pipe, in addition it was proposed by the technician to replace entire pipe line about 32 feet. As he stated it will increase the value of the property. This was the most expensive. Total $ 9577.00. When I realized this was not done, my daughter and I contacted this company. They said it was done and explained that they use a technique called Trenchless pipe Bursting. Not recommended and not possible for this case. I demand to modify the price accordingly to the work done. I truly appreciate your assistance to resolve my problem.

I am rejecting this response because: I didn't sign a contract. ELITE ROOTER, said it will write it and send it to me. So the especifications of the job are clearly not what we agreed. They lied about replacing 32 feet of pipes. However I'm paying for this eventhoug this was not done and is not in the contract. It's unfortunate that I trusted this company. And that I have to pay such a high price. When i started business with Elite Rooter i made it clear that I needed to see the permit and the worker's certification along with the contract, but all this was ignored. The money was collected when it was still in question the sewer pipe line replacement. To me this is fraud. For all this, I request a refund of $7,000.00

Hired Elite Rooter as our sewer lines were backing up. They came and replaced them, but did damage to water lines, it's been 4 months and nobody will show up to fix them holding up completing our job. They also paid themselves in full before the work was completed - which the contract specifically stated. At this point we've had to pay a separate plumber to fix part of the work at the cost of $1,700.00.Business Response

on 4/10 had drainage issue in my basement and called Elite Rooter. Plumber came and snaked the drain, stated he could not fix the issue. Supervisor Augie advised that they would need to replace a section of drain pipe outside. I was quoted a price of 11,250.00 and to date made two payments of 4500.00 and 3750.00 . on 4/11 After the section of pipe was excavated outside, I was informed 30 more feet would need to be replaced and the drain pipe outside would need to be relined up to the city line. I signed an electronic document at the time and was assured i would be getting copies of everything but to date I have only received the initial invoice from 4/10 showing my initial payment of 4500.00. On 4/12 water shooting up from laminate flooring in the basement. Informed Augie and after viewing and fixing the issue he stated that they would repair the damages and sent out a company named Quick Restore (QR). 4/13 received text message from Will (plumber) apologizing and explaining how the issue occurred. 4/14 QR and Elite debating what needs to occur for resolution. Alfonso Elite manager came and viewed damage stated he would speak with TJ at QR then would call me. QR calls later in the day stated they received authorization to repair damage. QR remove damaged flooring in basement and linoleum and concrete from bathroom. (i have many dmore dates and documentation but only a limited amount of characters). 5/22 received call from Harry Kahn advising that he was sent out by QR, they asked him to do the repairs. Discovered basement toilet leaked after QR removed concrete pad around it. (bathroom unusable) additional water damage to wall, shut off water. Spoke with A**** at Elite and was told they had no idea there was damage done that needed repair? Still not fixed. there is no working toilet in the basement. Multiple calls to elite no response, Lawyer sent construction defect letter beginning of June, no response to date.Business Response

To whom it may concern,
Elite Rooter has been trying to resolve this issue with the customer. While servicing the home, a water leak occurred in the basement. Upon being informed about the issue, we sent our technician out to the property to fix and address the problem. Additionally, we sent out a restoration company to fix the flooring. Unfortunately, his pre-existing tile is no longer manufactured and you can not find it any where. His bathroom is about a 4x4 space. We offered different options, however, the customer refuses. We have offered him a partial refund of $800, exceeding the amount of what it would cost for the 4X4 bathroom flooring. The customer has refused to pay his open invoice and will not accept a partial refund/credit. He is requesting Elite Rooter to replace his whole basement floor to have matching tiles to his bathroom. We have tried reaching out however, his phone goes straight to voicemail. We would like to resolve this with a reasonable outcome.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I have received no messages from your company. I have not received any return phone calls from management. The restoration company you sent out states it would cost more than the amount you offered to fix the issue. The damage is not only in the bathroom, the restoration company ripped out the flooring from part of the room outside of the bathroom as well as shown in the pictures that were included with the original complaint.

However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
