I had a reservation with Island Packers to transport me and a rental Kayak (rented from Channel Island Kayak Center) to Santa Rosa Island for October 14 through 16. Prior to the trip, I spent $1261.68 to make necessary preparations, purchase equipment, paying for training required for a 3-day 2night Ocean Kayak Packing, and accommodation in Ventura for the night of trip, all of which non-refundable.

When I as making the reservation with the Kayak rental company (Channel Island Kayak Center), they only asked me a few questions as following:

    - Destination: Channel Island National Park (They did NOT ask which Island)

    - The concessionaire in charge of transporting me and the Kayak: Island Packers

    - Date of the trip and type of the Kayak

The two companies (Island Packers, as the concessionaire, and Channel Island Kayak Center, as the Kayak rental company) do NOT have any agreement in place to share the information of their customers, nor had my permission to do so). However, Island Packers reached out to Channel Island Kayak Center (without letting me know first of their intention), disclosed my information, and informed them of my intended trip. Immediately after, Channel Island Kayak Center cancelled my reservation and refrained to rent me the Kayak they initially agreed to rent.

Since there is no other rental facilities in the area, renting kayaks for over night trips, me living away from the area and not being able to transport a Kayak to Ventura, I had to cancel my trip and all the $1261.68 of my investment got wasted. I am, therefore, demanding Island Packers to reimburse me that money as the loss I sustained due to their action. They undermined my privacy and acted against my interest and caused me a great loss.

Should you require any additional information, please let me know.

    Respectfully yours,
