    **** my daughter's car to **'s in November of 2023 and it was diagnosed as needing a new transmission. They found a used or rebuilt (not sure) transmission for a reasonable amount so we moved forward. Car was supposed to be done on a Tuesday (took it there the Thursday prior). Tuesday came and we never heard anything. I called on Wednesday and they said Thursday, then it became Friday. On Friday I got a call that they had accidentally "broken" the engine when installing the transmission. They then said the car would be good to go on Monday. It wasn't. We finally picked up the car on Tuesday (before Thanksgiving). Even then it was making some weird noises but I told my daughter to drive it for a few days and see how it drove. Well, on Thanksgiving it died. The power steering wasn't functioning and all the warning lights were going off. We had it towed back to *********************, but before that my husband noted loose wires, connections, etc.**'s said the battery needed replaced and that it was not related to the work they had done. They did however reconnect some of the loose wires and had to put some fluids in the car.The car was subsequently on the side of the road three more times (all as a result of work done initially). 12/19 - another mechanic reconnected loose wires, bolts, and a wheel bearing (which could have cause a very bad accident) 12/22 - alternator had to be replaced (it was reconnected wrong by **'s)2/6/2024 - knock control sensor replaced (the transmission shop said this was likely the initial problem, that the car probably didn't need a transmission)2/26/2024 - water pump replaced - mechanic said this was a result of how it was reinstalled

    On Dec 15, 2023 I went to ************************************ because I had gotten a flyer in the mail saying they were doing a FREE engine light checks. So I went there and showed them the flyer and they said it would be $160.00 to do that check. So...I ended up paying for that service.
