      I had solar installed by Cosmic Solar in 2015. In August 2023 my inverter broke. It took them over 2 weeks to come and look at my system (only after calling them daily). When they came they informed me I was under warranty and they would order the part. It is now December 2023 and I have yet to get my in yet fixed. They have excuse after excuse as to why it is taking so long. FYI - their website says they are BBB accredited but they are not.

      "Hi Maija,

      We appreciate your BBB complaint and, quite truthfully, have been working with you and the manufacturer, SMA America, very closely now for two months trying to lean on them to send a replacement under warranty. You had even suggested we use legal action against the inverter manufacturer, SMA, which we politely declined given our 18 year history with SMA America. We're not able to threaten them with legal action, but have been faithfully following up with them weekly in order to try to secure an inverter replacement for you under warranty. The inverter failure is not a Cosmic Solar and Roofing workmanship issue, rather a hardware failure from the manufacturer, SMA, and we're doing everything we can to work with them on a replacement. The inverter you have is 9.5 years old and SMA stopped manufacturing them over six years ago, which is why they're having a hard time finding a replacement for you.

      As you know, the original customer of ours for this project was *************************************, the homeowner who purchased this system from us in 2015, many, many years before you bought the house. Regardless, the owner of our company came out for free in October for you to troubleshoot the inverter and was able to get the inverter warrantied under a manufacturer's warranty through SMA America. Since then SMA has told us several times they have shipped the inverter, but we have not yet received it. We're continuing to call and lean on SMA America to produce the inverter so we can come swap it out for you but they haven't sent the replacement. You have also called them several times and let our Service Manager know they've said they shipped it as well. You asked for tracking which they could not provide. When you called SMA, they told you the inverter would ship from one of SMA's distribution centers, which also has not happened. We're in on this issue with you together and it's really disappointing to know the approach was not to place blame on the manufacturer who sold a defective product, but to blame us. This isn't a workmanship issue and we've been doing everything we can go help you for free to secure a replacement inverter.

      We have been incredibly proactive on this issue and our Service Manager is in very close contact with you. You have sent him dozens of text messages and followed up with us many times over phone calls. We're all on the same page, at least we thought we were, that the manufacturer has dropped the ball here and this wasn't the fault of Cosmic Solar and Roofing, though we're doing our best to help you out. We understand your frustration -- we're frustrated too -- and we'll continue to keep calling SMA to push them to send the replacement. We've done everything we can at this point to help you and it's really sad that your action was to contact the BBB to blame us rather than the manufacturer.

      Regardless, we're still on your side and working to secure the replacement so we can come swap it out for you ASAP. Even though you are not our customer (it was *************************************), we're still here for you and are working to resolve your issue to get you back up and running ASAP. Thank you for your patience and we're on your team to help out here."

      Since roof mounted solar panel installation by Cosmic Solar my roof leaks during heavy rains. I reached out to Cosmic Solar on January 1st 2023 after the first heavy rain after installation and told them water was leaking through the roof above where they installed a set of solar panels. They said they were busy and recommended "If you want to get an independent roofer out there tomorrow before the rain again on Tuesday, that *** be beneficial to prevent further leaking." They stated in their findings "Recommendations check the roof between the 4 solar panels on the left by the valley area ". On 3/15/2023 during another heavy rain my roof began leaking again. Cosmic Solar came out this time and verified the leak was from a defect in the solar installation. Cosmic Solar (specifically Pey Shadzi) responded after this latest inspection "There was one piece of ******** (which is responsible for bringing water from the shingle area up and onto the tile so it cascades to the bottom of the roof) that was torn, allowing a small amount of water underneath the tiles. This is the cause of the very small leak you experienced." The people from Cosmic Solar that came out to inspect the roof also stated that the installers failed to extend the asphalt shingles far enough under the tile roof. These leaks have resulted in a stain in my living room ceiling that was about 2 feet long after the first leak but is now about 5 feet long after the second leak along the seem of drywall. Cosmic Solar refuses to pay for the roofing contractor they asked me to have come out ($400) and refuses to do anything more than add a "dab" of paint to the ceiling stain if I supply the paint. I don't have the original paint to the ceiling and would not want a paint used that does not match. I also have no confidence future leaks will be taken care of based on their unwillingness to address the damage or pay for the roofing contractor they asked me to find when they were too busy.

      I believe this issue has already been taken care of.

      Cosmic solar has been to this job site several times at our own expense and we have already spent hundreds of dollars tending to this complaint. And the issue has been taken care of.
