Pennymac held my mortgage that was assumed by a buyer of our home. Once the assumption was approved they refused to provide to me my final statement that outlines principal and interest paid. Furthermore, when I tried to provide my forwarding address, they would not take it as they stated I was not authorized to provide them that information.Business Response

PENNYMAC continues to call me in attempts to refinance my home loan. After repeatedly saying no, that I wanted to wait until federal interest rates drop, she tells me that if I don’t refinance my home loan with her, that she will have to call the VA and report that I was offered a lower interest rate and didn’t take it. She says she doesn’t understand why I wouldn’t want to refinance for 0.5% less and says the VA is just going to take more of my money. She obviously doesn’t understand how VA loans work and these scare tactics may work on a lot of the older population who don’t understand. They are trying to scare people into spending thousands refinancing with them.Business Response

This year, May, 2024 my home loan payment to PennyMac was automatically withdrawn, the payment withdrawn electronically was over and above my home owner’s monthly payment by over $800.
The additional $800. deducted has immediately affected my family, is negatively reporting to credit agencies, and the cause of unnecessary stress from the additional deduction by PennyMac
I immediately went to the PennyMac website and logged in to my private/secure client portal
My May home owners statement shows additional funds withdrawn electronically which is unauthorized, further received no notice or consideration why the additional funds were withdrawn
After further search on the secure PennyMac portal Debits to my Escrow balance have been accrued over 12 months, annually more than $8000. There is no explanation or client communications on the May statement or secure online portal page addressing the negative escrow, and or why
My May Statement has a “Insurance Questions” 800 telephone number for immediate assistance with Insurance
I called the number provided by PennyMac was put on hold, a person came on the line, asked about “Hazzard Insurance” and was put on hold, with multiple solicited pressure to buy discounted AT&T Telephone and Direct TV After refusing to provide a debit card was put on hold 23 minutes, the call dropped. 3 more calls were identical in sales pitch, waiting on hold, demanding debit card, dropped call and is a scam
The 800 number called is listed on my “Secure” web portal with PennyMac, now alarmed about my identity, credit information being stolen
The previous 5 Statement all has “Late” w fee assessed. Every payment on my mortgage with PennyMac has been paid electronically on time. These errors, the scam telephone numbers, additional Escrow charges are outrageous. All of the above negatively affects my credit rating, the livelihood of my family, and insist these errors be corrected including all late fees, unauthorized hazard insurance, etcBusiness Response

I paid on time entire mortgage & have added late charges, damages from incompetent people and there 1st QTR Results show none of these issues - there not sharing w shareholders and is deceptive as it gets

Pennymac is holding onto my insurance check due to a insurance claim I had to put in. I sent them the insurance check for them to endorse which was received on 6/4 as it shows in there system. I have completed all the required documents as of 6/5 and they still haven't sent my insurance check to me yet.
Pennymac claims from website, "Once we receive your claim check and any required documentation, we will issue a payment."

You have approved all of my required documents on 6/5 and today is 6/13 and you are still processing my check. Your goal is a lie. I am waiting on PennyMac to send me my funds before I can start repairing my house and it is a not great situation. Please release my funds so I can start my project.

I called Pennymac on May 31, 2024 and paid my mortgage early for the month of June. I told them I would like to pay early and skip my auto payment on June 10th. I was told that was fine and they would handle it on their end. On June 11, 2024 I was charged a second time for the same payment causing my checking and savings to go negative and me to be charged with overdraft fees on both my checking and savings accounts. When I called Pennymac and spoke with N***** he said there was nothing they could do it was just a mistake. They would try to refund it in 5 to 7 business days. I have no money to buy my medicine, fuel for my car, food for me and my kids and every day I am getting charged more and more over draft fees. This was totally an error on their end and they are not willing to help me out in any way.Business Response

Complaint: 21831972I was told by N***** the supervisor on the phone that they would put in the refund of this immediately and he would put in an expedite so I receive the funds in 2 days and he would email me a conformation. This never happened.
I am rejecting this response because: I was told by N***** who is a supervisor for Pennymac that even though they made an unscheduled withdraw on my account causing it to go negative and cause overdraft fees they were not responsible "It was not their fault" when the only way the account could have been overdrawn is if they done exactly what they done. I have never had my account overdrawn in my life. When I asked how they would pay me back for these fees I was told its not their problem. This is most defiantly their problem. And this is a horrible way to treat a customer. I will be looking into further ways to handle this as far as litigation. To take advantage of a customer and have no concern is very disappointing and should not be a business practice by a multimillion dollar business. Totally unethical and unprofessional.

I made a payment to PennyMac on May 20th for my mortgage through my bill pay with Mountain America Credit Union. There was a discrepancy with where it was sent. Leading, unbeknownst to me, to a missed payment in May. When I talked to them last Friday, I had a C. U. Rep on the line that confirmed I sent out that payment. They forgave the late fee but still dinged my credit & my X wife Amanda's. Not that it overly matters but I do have cognitive decline do to a TBI that is documented. It's a big credit hit to both of us, completely hurting us both substantially.

I was in a loan forbearance 3 months with this company. My original mortgage was sold to them. They are scammers. I was unemployed for 2 months and faces a hardship so they said they would put my mortgage in forbearance and my credit was not at risk. I just came out of the forbearance two weeks ago and they went back the full 90 days and related my credit as DELINQUENT all 3 months I was in forebearance. This cannot be legal!
So I am calling BBB, disputing it with all bureaus and calling for someone at the top of their credit reporting company to rectify this asap. When your credit is flawless for the past 16 years and this happens it’s not a reflection of me as a consumer but a poor reflective of PennyMac as a lender. How can you promise not to jeopardize someone’s while in a hardship and then say oh you’re out of the hardship, now I’ll retroactivate all that negative history. That’s not helping, that’s harming!! And that’s falsification!
I have had 3 other mortgages prior to this company and never had an issue like this. I also have federal student loans which have been in forbearance many times due to a layoff and then due to pandemic and that have not once put any negative or derogatory marks on my credit. I went from a 742 overnight to a 554 as a result of them reporting this falsely. I was told by Pennymac that my credit would not be impacted me negatively. The worst part is this was not my lender when I purchased this home last year, it was sold to Pennymac. Buyer BEWARE if you’re selecting them as your creditor. This is fraudulent!Business Response

PennyMac continues to report inaccurate information on my credit report relating to late payments and delinquencies on my mortgage (Loan ID 80******47). I initially noticed this issue in April 2023 when the lender reported that my mortgage was 150 days delinquent. My spouse called and confirmed that the account was not delinquent and customer service assured him that the issue would be resolved in the upcoming cycle. The issue was resolved and corrected on the next two cycles. Now as of May 2024, PennyMac is once again stating that the mortgage is 150 days past due causing a significant decrease in my credit score. My spouse once again reached out to the lender and was told the same thing, the account is not delinquent, and the issue should be corrected on my credit report in the upcoming month. As the next month approaches (June 2024), my credit report was not corrected and now shows that my mortgage is 180 days past due. I submitted several disputes through Experian to no avail, the finding is the same with each dispute and states that the loan was modified under a federal government plan. I have the transfer statements that show that the account has been paid. I would like PennyMac to adjust ALL payments incorrectly reported as late on my mortgage to reflect as current or provide proof and supporting documentation as to why they are reporting late payments and delinquencies since the inception of the mortgage. Under 15 U.S. Code 1681, inaccurate credit reporting impairs the efficiency of the banking system. I would like the lender to provide documentation of the resolution of this issue and what steps will be taken to mitigate the risks of this issue occurring again.Business Response

I have informed PENNYMAC that I do not pay property taxes anymore in multiple occasions where they stated that they will put a note and file the proper paperwork for it. Each time the issue is fixed for a 2-3 months and t*** the escrow analysis comes around and jacks up my monthly payments by a lot. I called and fixed this issue twice already and had to waste my time calling the town and PENNYMAC to provide proper documentation providing that I do not pay property taxes anymore. Fast forward a few months, PENNYMAC still decided to pay my town property taxes that I do not owe. I call PENNYMAC and they said it’s not their problem and I would have to pay back the money that they sent to my town because I didn’t have enough money in my escrow account so they made me barrow money from them without my authorization. I called and this issue was resolved for about 4 months until the same problem happened again. The company failed to correct this issue multiple times and mismanages the escrow accounts causing me more stress because I have to file multiple paperwork to get the money back from City Hall that PENNYMAC mishandled. Getting money back from City Hall takes months to resolve because you have to wait until they have a city counsel meeting to sign the paperwork.Business Response

My fiancé, A***** ******, has a mortgage with PennyMac Loan Servicing for
his residence at **** ****** ***** ******* ****, Spencerport, NY 14559. Loan
number: 7********5.Mr. M***** wanted
to add me to his mortgage loan through an assumption. A********* ******, my cousin,
who currently is the co-signer of the mortgage with Mr. M*****, wants to remove
himself from the mortgage and add me, G***** ******, in his placed. This should
have been a very fluid and organic process as I have great credit, great income
and reside with Mr. M***** at his mortgaged home via PennyMac full time.Mr.
M***** and I completed the assumption documentation online several weeks ago
and on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, to our surprise, the Assumptions Department
representative, Elizabeth Garcia (NMLS ID #1442435), informed us that my credit
score prevented approval.We were
shocked and requested Ms. Garcia provide my credit decision letter. While my
fiancé, A***** ******, could access his letter on the portal, mine was and
still is unavailable.
This lack of
information is concerning, especially considering my attorney is baffled by the
rejection of my supposedly "stellar" credit. We suspect a delay in
removing erroneous data from my credit report, despite assurances and
compensation from credit bureaus a few months ago.As
of today, June 6th, 2024, at 6:00 PM Eastern Time, our attempts to obtain this
information have been unsuccessful. We have emailed and called Ms. Garcia
repeatedly, but she has not provided any answers. Additionally, A***** ******
called your 1-800 number and was promised a callback from a supervisor but
never received one.By law, I am
entitled to know the reason for the credit denial. It's concerning that my
fiancé received a credit decision letter, but mine remains inaccessible.I

I am rejecting this response because:I am writing to follow up on the credit application denial details for G***** ******. While I understand staffing shortages can be challenging, as my PennyMac's representative Elizabeth Garcia just e-mailed us, they shouldn't impact the level of service provided.
As you can see from the attached document, my fiancée, A***** ******, received an immediate and detailed "Statement of Credit Denial" formal letter for his co-application on the portal we submitted our information. Why aren't I also being afforded such level of care and professionalism? This "Statement of Credit Denial" document A***** ****** received on our application portal clearly outlines the information reported by each credit bureau and how it affected the approval decision.
Unfortunately, the 'Statement of Credit Denial" letter was never provided to me and now I have to go on a scavenger hunt to get mine? Are you kidding me? Could you please provide a similar document as my fiancée's, A***** ******, outlining the specific information used from each credit bureau? Now we are going into a THIRD WEEK of this repeated request to no avail. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional for a company such as PennyMac to operate in such a fashion.

I am rejecting this response because this company had me spend THREE WEEKS in an attempt to get a simple response. I got my answer elsewhere as this company clearly has zero ability to maintain proper communication timeline with consumers.
