We rented out Chambers Event Center on for a wedding. We came in September 10th to give the owner the remainder of the venue balance and this was due to a check that had bounced. We provided him the cash directly after he called the pastor next to his venue to tell him that the balance was not paid. He took our business outside to other people to call us when he only called us once regarding the check bouncing but we were at our wedding the next day as we had a 2 days wedding event. The second celebration took place at another venue. **** the owner made no mention to my husband or me about any broken door. We asked when we would receive our deposit back and he says he will provide us a check within 30 days. We have been contacting him for 2 months to retrieve our deposit back yet he was never available. When we finally showed up to the venue without an appointment he tried to say a door was damaged and needed to be replaced. We had not been made aware of a door being broken. He lied that someone broke the door meanwhile this was never communicated and there was an event the night following our event. He refused to give us our money back until we threatened to file a law suit. When we came on the night of 11/14 he says he will with hood $100 for fixing the door. We are yet to see any proof that the door was broken that day and replaced within a week of the date he refused to provide us our money. He has been doing shady business and we shouldve read all reviews before booking. He is withholding $100 from us. Please help.
