I went to *** autobody back to January to have them fix my broken bumper. I had purchased a bumper online and had asked them to install it. They told me they would be happy to install it and it would cost just about $500 they did not complete the job and left a substantial amount of damage on the left side of my vehicle in which they told me it would cost $3000 to repair, I declined and told them I was not interested in that amount of work as I could not afford it. They finished the job and I picked up my vehicle and drove it home. About five minutes from where the shop is located the next morning I drove to work in ******, and noticed a portion of my vehicle undercarriage were falling off. Upon inspection, it appears they did not reattach the front restraining bolts that hold the undergird to my front bumper. When I confronted them about this and asked them to repair the damage, they refused and said it would cost $2000 to repair it I later had the damage reviewed by my local vehicle dealership. They said its not unusual for one or two bolts to fall off a vehicle within a 10 year span however, they said its highly unlikely for just under 20 bolts to fall off of a vehicle. They stated that it appeared that the *** auto body failed to reinstall the bolts when I called them and requested a refund for my services they declined stating it was my fault for not inspecting my vehicle. Properly, they posed a serious safety risk to not only me but other drivers on the road, not only did this. Cost me a great deal of stress, but it also cost me a decent amount of money to have it repaired elsewhere. Should something of happened to another vehicle couldve been very costly.

    To whom this may concern,

************* brought in his vehicle for us to install his supplied bumper.

This vehicle was in a front end collision at some point and we were aware the customer couldn't afford significant repairs-which were needed.
The original bumper on his vehicle was barely attached including the lower shield that was also damaged. The lower shield was not replaced-however it should've been.

This vehicle needed more than just a bumper cover and the customer declined the additional work.

We had done the repair per the customers initial request.

I am rejecting this response because:

Additional work was not recommended during the initial evaluation and is not included on my inspection statement. Based on the violation of the Colorado MVR Act, Section 8 I am requesting a minimum settlement amount of $500. The following prohibited acts were done by the auto body shop which include, misrepresenting the necessity of repair, misrepresenting that vehicle is in a dangerous condition, misrepresenting that repairs were done when they were not.

    Sincerely,

I WAS NOT informed that further repairs were need to my vehicle before removing it from the lot following the initial service. ************** reached out to abc auto body on September 17th after driving the vehicle for 2 days and left a voicemail expressing his concerns.

Abc auto body reached out to ************** on September 18th when business was open asking him to bring vehicle back to address his concerns.

************** did not return to abc auto body until October 23rd.

Because of the time lapse, the customer failed to mitigate the repair concern.

    To whom this may concern,
I picked up my vehicle from abc auto body on September 15th after I was told all repairs that were requested by customer were completed.
I drove my vehicle walking distance from there shop to my vehicles residence,
I reached out to abc auto body on September 17th after driving the vehicle for the first time in 2 days and left a voicemail expressing his concerns about the safety hazards of parts of my undercarriage flying off south bound i25.
Abc auto body reached out to me on September 18th when business was open asking him to bring vehicle back to take a look.

I did not return to abc auto body until October 23rd, being out of town and then having Covid. The vehicle was not in use at that time due to the extensive damage.
On October 23rd, I retuned to abc to have them look at the damage and request that they make it right as my vehicle did not have this damage prior.
I was told by a staff member the car was missing many portions of the underside sheeting, however appeared fine to drive.
When I asked the male staff member why this was happening, she remarked in a rude town that the vehicle has been poorly maintained and that it was kind of a junky car anyway, so it really doesnt matter that much. He then informed me, they were only contracted to repair the bumper and not other portions of the car. When I explain to him that I was not aware of the damage underneath the car and would have been happy to fix they had told me it needed to be done upon pickup, he stated it was not their problem and told me they would be happy to replace the parts for $3000ish.
The facts of the matter are the following:

ABC was hired to repair the front bumper.

Upon pick up the bill was payed and the keys were handed to me. No walk through or further repairs were done or noted.

When leaving the shop I was under the impression that the vehicle was in a road safe condition meaning parts of it would not fall off on the roadway.

2 days later when driving a distance longer than a mile at higher speeds on the interstate I noticed vehicle behind me flashing headlights to inform me of an issue. Moments later I notice loud tearing sounds and parts of my car flying off. I pulled over and called ABC.

The vehicle was not in use for the period of just over a month due to the unsafe condition and a person matter/illness.

When returning to the auto body company they dismissed the issue and then proceeded to attempt to take advantage of a college student with limited education of vehicles and general life skills.

It is evident that ABC saw any easy target and attempted to take advantage not knowing I had some background in politics and law.

The time lapse its a relevant as the statue of limitation is one year, and as I did try to mitigate the repairs, I was rejected on multiple levels by rude staff members.
This is a false claim ************** states that the vehicle was not safe to drive but continued to do so for 5 weeks. The vehicle was parked during this period.
It is evident abc auto body had failed stands behind their work, and is clearly trying to use misinformation to cover up there mistake.

    To whom this may concern,

************* was not taken advantage of in any regard.
We always stand behind our work.
It is unfortunate we weren't able to meet ****************** expectations.
    Facts are as follows.
ABC Auto body billed for what work ************** authorized.

************** was not willing to pay for the repairs he needed to his vehicle.

    Thank you
