      I joined the Colorado Carshare Program when I lived in the state to have access to their fleet of cars. I was charged a monthly fee while I was a part of the program. I tried to leave the company when I moved away from Colorado, I called the company and had them confirm that my membership was canceled. Though I still received charges for some time after. After the third time that I called to cancel my membership, they finally stopped charging me and refunded me for some of the excess charges. Now I am seeing that they've been charging my collections. As far as I am aware, the additional charges have ceased but I do have a collections balance with the company which does not make sense as I never missed a payment and should not have had an existing contract with them.They overcharged me and falsely "confirmed" a canceled contract at least three times. Unfortunately I do not have written record of the cancelations because they were done over the phone, but I'm certain that a record of the dates and times of my calls could be retrieved.

      Colorado CarShare requires that all members inform us in writing if they wish to close their account. We did not receive any written communication asking us to close this account. In addition, we only send members to collections after multiple attempts to contact them regarding their outstanding balance due. Please see the attached language from our Member Handbook regarding membership cancellations:

      Cancellation of Membership
      You can cancel your membership by emailing us at *******************************. Membership termination will only be effective upon return of your key fob and full payment of any balance owed to CO CarShare.
      Your account will be fully closed on the first day of the following month after you submit your request. You are still responsible for any outstanding account balance, including the current month's monthly membership fee. Please be aware: You won't be able to use the service again without re-applying for membership (and paying the app fee).
