Avoid at all costs! We woke up to see our 15 years old cat lying on the floor covered in her own ****, crying from pain. We took her to CASE at ****. After $1500 of tests they tentatively diagnosed spinal disk inflammation, told us to wait for neurology exam by a specialist, to hospitalize our cat for several days, then, probably, do MRI and prepare for $15000 surgery. Thank God I called my friend, who does pet-sitting, she recommended to get an alternative opinion at ********. CASE did not expected us to take our dying pet home, I wanted her back immediately, so the cat was returned to us in a hurry covered with the same p*** They did not clean her, but they poured enough iso-propanol (disinfectant) in the carrier to make ME suffocating. We took the cat out and had to carry her in our hands. At **** next morning at ********, based on the same data that CASE collected, our cat was correctly diagnosed with pancreas inflammation confirmed by Ultrasound that ******** did, while CASE did not. Doctor had not been very optimistic: 20% of humans die when taken to emergency with such disease. The pain is horrible. Surprisingly, the ********'s doctor told us that such infection is statistically the most likely diagnosis for a cat with such symptoms and tests' data, that we had been prescribed correct antibiotics at CASE, the doctor added steroids and care advice. So, while suspecting the real reason for the disease, CASE did not start antibiotics, we did it at home home at 5pm, almost too late! Against all odds our cat survived and fully recovered. If we did not take her home, we would certainly lose our cat. Also, we can not afford to pay $20000 for the MRI+surgery, so till the rest of our lives we would feel guilty that we did not save our cat when we could! While being professional on the surface, CASE hopes for yours pet to have the most expensive disease, while ignoring an obvious "common" diagnosis and simple medical statistics.
