Tilled, ***** a payment processing company, has withheld a payment of $12,106 without cause. We are asking ourselves, has Tilled violated the Fair Credit Billing Act's prompt payment and other provisions?1/29/2024 - Tilled Inc. was responsible for processing a deposit payment of $12,106.95 made by the client homeowner.2/5/2024 - ************* Efficiency Solutions, LLC contacted Tilled to ask for an update of the processing of the payment. It was then that Tilled notified TruBlu of Tilleds 6-day processing hold on payments. This policy, we were informed, is in place because of reasons such as possible payment withdrawal or non-sufficient funds from clients. This information was only disclosed when we proactively reached out to Tilled for a status update.2/6/2024 - After the 6-day period passed, Tilled did not release the payment but rather made a NEW demand for a copy of the client Invoice, which was provided. After the Invoice was provided, they then made an additional demand for a project timeline and said they had to have this before they would release the funds. The timeline was provided. 2/8/2024 - Tilled then cited that the transaction exceeded their arbitrarily imposed limit of $7,000 and that was the NEW reason for holding the processing of payment. Later in the day they said they had released $8,000.2/9/2024 Tilled again said they were releasing $8,000, the same $8,000 they had committed to release the day prior, and the remaining amount would be released on Monday, 2/12/2024. A full two weeks after receiving the initial payment. As a result of this withheld payment:We are unable to fulfill our financial commitments to our suppliers for the windows and doors that have been ordered for the project. Our company's credit history with suppliers is at risk.
