Transation Date: 9/13/22 (Tuesday) Paid amount: $160 Das Boot Enforcement put a boot on my vehicle in a parking space with a sign saying "Warning Parking Violators will be immobilized: Office only Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM" I do not live in this complex/area. So I thought I was following the rules. I was parked there on a Tuesday evening and was booted at 10:20PM. I went to leave the complex at 10:25PM and a man had booted my vehicle and was finishing up paperwork. He told me I needed to pay $160 to get the boot off. I paid because that seemed the only option to me at the moment to leave and get my vehicle back. I don't know the rules if there are any about this complex (I do not live or work here) and I feel like this sign is confusing if there are rules about parking in the evening. Is there no guest parking in acceptable spots anywhere? This sign feels like entrapment and feels illegal. If they are going to boot you without proper signage and notifications that is illegal, or so I think. There should be an acceptable amount of parking for tenants, workers and guests, right? From my understanding this is not the case in any of those areas, for tenants, workers or guests. Having a separate LLC aside from the complex management company to come boot your vehicle definitely seems like entrapment to me. In a living complex that should accommodate parking for tenants, workers and guests. Also it seems like a conflict of interest when the property manager is Sarah LW T*** and the separate LLC **** ******* is also listed under her name, Sarah LW T***. So this seem weird. I don't know if this is illegal or sketchy when it comes to the law? I have been told this company is difficult to work with because the **** ******* and Property Management company are run/owned by the same people. So I decided to try and find a resolution with the BBB so that I may be taken seriously. Please help me or resolve the issue to refunding my money and replace signage appropriately.
