    I paid Riverdale Tree Services a total amount of $700.00 on October 7, 2024 to remove a dying tree from my front yard, Invoice/quote #**** in the amount of $550.00. The $700.00 check has been cashed by Riverdale and has cleared my bank. Riverdale was to return at a later date for ***** grinding/removal. Riverdale was going to charge me $550.00 for this service. I was visiting with a neighbor friend discussing my tree removal, during the conversation she mentioned they found service that only charged them $100.00 for their ***** removal. So I called this company and they game out on October 25th and performed the grinding/***** removal and charged me $100.00 for the same service.Not only do I feel violated by Riverdale but this is considered "Senior Abuse" as I am a 67 year old single female. I am filing this complaint as I do not want want other females or seniors taken advantage of. I have asked Riverdale several times to send me the $150.00 refund. 1st response, ******* will drop a check off tomorrow at your home; 2nd response, ******* is mailing your check and you will have it by Wednesday, Nov. 13th; as of this today, I have not received the $150.00 refund.

    We take all customer concerns seriously, but its important to clarify the situation accurately.
    This customer contracted us for both tree removal and ***** grinding services, which were outlined in the signed agreement. Our policy, clearly stated in the contract, specifies that cancellations are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. The actual cancellation fee in this case exceeded $150, but we initially offered to refund that amount as a goodwill gesture. Despite this, the customer canceled the ***** grinding ********************** after signing the agreement and hired another company without consulting us, violating the terms of our contract.
    The customers initial payment of $700 was meant to cover the tree removal and serve as a deposit for future services, including ***** grinding. Our ***** grinding service was priced higher because it involved grinding the ***** far more deeply to prepare the site for replanting a tree, unlike the basic grinding offered by the alternative company she chose. Additionally, we had arranged to plant a new tree for her at no charge, with labor provided at a significantly reduced cost. This comprehensive approach was discussed and agreed upon prior to her cancellation.
    The contract also includes a clause that expects customers to communicate respectfully. Unfortunately, the customers interactions became increasingly rude and hostile, which we can substantiate with proof of her communications. These interactions included unprofessional behavior that made it difficult to resolve the matter amicably.
    A refund check for $100 was mailed on November 19, 2024, despite her breach of the contract. To date, the check has not been cashed. This leads us to believe that she is holding onto it to be spiteful, which further underscores her unwillingness to resolve this matter in good faith.
    It is also important to note that when we completed the tree removal, she was more than happy with the work we performed and expressed her satisfaction with the results. Her subsequent actions and this slanderous review are both unwarranted and disappointing.
    We respectfully request that this review be considered in light of the full context. Riverdale Tree Services remains committed to honesty, professionalism, and providing exceptional service to all of our customers.
