After last year's tornado in ***************, we hired Amazing Painting Solutions to replace some siding and trim on our home, caulk and paint the entire home and paint a newly installed front door (inside and out). We started discussions around October 3rd, dealt with insurance and I believe the siding started around January 29th and the painting was done around February 15th. The front door was not yet installed so that was (mostly) painted on April 25th. We paid in full because of the warranty. We should not have done that! The trim around the windows looks awful (it was dark when the work was completed) and above the inside of the door is missing paint. There are other issues like painted tape and paper remaining on the house but those are minor compared to the window trim. **** came out in April and whole heartedly agreed that the work around the windows was shoddy and they would fix it. He said it's hard to find a good crew in February. They returned, removed some of the staples and put in some finishing nails and added some more caulking. It still looks awful - **** agreed and said they would talk with ******************************* and The Window Store (where we purchased the windows) and together they would come up with a solution. On May 18th he texted that they have figured out a solution and would come fix the house. After missing various appointments to implement this solution we received an email on July 9 saying "You inspected those repairs when the job was completed, you approved it, and paid the balance. Unfortunately, I must tell you that our work at your house was completed on 2/15/2024, and we will not be coming back." We were expecting them on July 10. We are left with an unfinished front door and shoddy looking window trim. All of the pictures I am attaching where taken 7/10/2024. I have also emailed these to Amazing Painting Solutions.

      Business Response

Hello ***, We replaced the trim and siding as agreed and repainted your house. You were happy with the work. You inspected it and approved it and paid the balance due. 5-months later you decide you are not happy with the cosmetic look on the south side of the house. The south side get all the sun all day long, which caused some of caulking to expand. There is little that can be done to bring it to the it's original state. The window trim did not flex back as it did on the rest of the house so the trim needed to be stapled for a tight fit. You are only complaining about a minor cosmetic issue, several staples. I have sent people out to address the situation and you are not happy no matter what they do. To come out and to try to make it like you want it, is only making things worse. After speaking with both the ******************************* rep and the window manufacturers representative it seems best, to leave things just as they are. I feel bad that you are not happy with the look, but my painters used best practices to make these repairs.

      Complaint: 21980976

I am rejecting this response because, the response is just not accurate.  I paid the balance because it was after 6pm in February, so it was dark and cold outside. **** and the team also were going to return to paint our front door, so he said any issues could be addressed then, such as the paper and tape left on our house in two places. **** also had me believing the warranty was valid.  When the painter came to paint the front door, he did not complete the work and was fired, per ****, during the job. No one came back out to complete this job. As I said in my complaint, I sent photos in April to **** and he agreed things needed fixed.  I never agreed the fix looked good which is why we had appointments that you repeatedly did not show for (but always had an excuse).   **** always agreed the work looked shoddy when we discussed it.  He also said you had a solution after talking with our window company and ******************************* and you were to come July 8th and fix the issue.  Of the many fallacies, April is not 5 months from February, I never inspected and agreed it looked nice but I did pay, which I agree was a mistake but I was counting on your honestly, integrity and warranty.  I also do not understand how you had a solution after speaking with both the ******************************* rep and the window manufacturers representative and now you say it seems best to leave things just as they are.  A much smaller issue is the unfinished inside painting above the front door (see photo) - a smaller issue for sure but an excellent example of the quality of your work.

Please see attached screen shots of text conversations and also review photos uploaded in initial complaint.

      Sincerely,
