4 starsPhoton Brothers did a fine job installing our solar system with a Tesla Powerwall backup battery in 2 phases, as I had planned. Overall, they did a good job managing the project and communicating progress. The work their on-site installers did was exemplary, and I'm pretty meticulous about these things, frankly.We did have some difficulties in the second phase, where we added 3 additional panels and the backup battery, but eventually, we got there. 4 stars rather than 5 for this reason.After the sales service has been good - we were able to identify and clear a configuration issue with the system to my satisfaction within a reasonable timeframe. Since installation, the system has been performing at or above design reliably.Review fromPatty N

2 starsI live in ******** and cannot recommend using Photon Brothers for your solar panel installation. While I believe they sell quality panels, the installation process was extremely disorganized and frustrating. The plan for arranging panels on our roof was clearly covering vents and too close to a skylight. After several tries at revisions, the co-owner assured me it would work. Turns out it didn't and the design team had to change the plan after all. They rewrote it but didn't tell anyone including the installers and the county. The installers arrived and couldn't implement the plan as written. The system failed county inspection and another in a series of delays ensued. I had to follow up on every single step of the installation process to get any action. Who has time for this? Once the system was approved by the county and the energy company, I sent the second payment. I later discovered 2 problems with the original installation but service requests go into a black hole and there is no response. No one answers the phone. When I finally asked the co-owner when they could come out to fix the second installation problem he literally said the issue was a low priority. They do not stand behind their work once they receive that final payment.Review fromtom w

1 starDo not use Photon Brothers Solar panels. Once ****** (our salesperson)(****************) received his commission, despite saying he would be with us until the end, never held true to his word until it was to late. The project manager took over and went on leave without any communication as to her replacement. Once installed the electrician put ground wire into the ceiling not connecting to anything. He told us it didn't need to. The system failed inspection 3 weeks later. ******* (new project manager) sent a new electrician to rectify. On 5/29/23 Xcel gave us permission to operate. On 5/30/23 ******* was contacted again to have it turned on. ******* agrees to pay the 1st month payment for delays. As of 6/25/23 a check still hasn't been received. Shop around, read their reviews. The are unsatisfactory from top to bottom. I will not be recommending them to anyone.Review fromMylissa M

Photon Brothers is always amazing, professional and knowledgeable. They employ the very best people and ****, ***, **** and **** are no exception. They are all so pleasant, easy to communicate with and exceptional at their jobs. I am so grateful that I met *********************** at that home show years ago and chose Photon Brothers as my installer for a great product with an excellent warranty!

Untimely service, disorganized. I had my proposal accepted in July 2021. The project never got started until October 2022. I had given them deposit of two thirds the total amount after proposal acceptance. Their project management team kept changing frequently. Poor communications amongst the team. Ultimately they came out with a new project and design layout which I had to approve since I had already given them the down payment and I wanted the project completed sooner than later. The new layout had less production but the price of the new project did not reflect that. Overall very poor and terrifying experience. When I asked them for discount claiming I lost so much time and loss from electricity production they were mute. They gave me a discount of 170 dollars for one month loss of electricity production. Whereas I feel they should have given me a year worth loss of electricity production for project delay on their end. They also had my $24K deposited and kept for over a year which I could have effectively used for a lot of purposes which is also a loss. I would never recommend Photon Brothers.Photon Brothers Inc

Hi **************, we are sorry and saddened to see this review. We try to make every experience with our company a positive experience and we understand if you feel let down here. Your project issues were a result of COVID, a snowy mountaintop forest location, supply chain issues and skyrocketing costs. After evaluating your request to locate the solar panels on a Ground Mounted system in the trees, Photon Brothers realized that that option was no longer viable and we do not advocate cutting down trees to install solar panels where a roof is appropriate. We apologize that it took so long to get the system installed and regret that you had a bad experience, but please know that reviews like this hurt family-owned businesses like ours and we urge you to reconsider your post.
