Contractor came as a referral from my Uncle and Aunt on my moms side so my parents had thought it would be okay. The deposit was paid and a couple weeks later one of the contractor's guys came out and fixed one thing on the list and half of another. The concrete wasn't poured until late July, and it was horribly done to say the least. It's chipping, cracking, plenty of honeycombs all through-out; it's not lined up to existing concrete, its crooked and not level at all and it's falling apart more and more by the day. On the days the forms mostly came out (the left a few still in the concrete) my brother called the contractor to let him know we were not happy about it, and set up a meeting with us all for the following day. The contractor showed up at my mom's house less than an hour after the call with my brother and seemed shocked that I was there. I walk him through all the areas that we are not happy with as at this point the concrete has been in less than a week and is already falling apart and I tell him it looks like a** He said don't worry he will be back in a week to make it look good. A week goes by and he doesn't show up, during that time I had another concrete contractor come out and tell me a list of reasons this was a bad pour and the only way to fix is to demo and re-pour. We don't hear from him again for a few days where my mom finally texts him asking for the plan, to which he replies any further contact about this project needs to go through the owner of the company(who happens to be his wife) My mom emails the boss, who then claims that I have made a hostile work environment with how I treated ****(the contractor) and they cant get anyone to come out and fix it because of that. My mom asks for a refund for the concrete that has to be torn out, plus the money she paid for projects that they never finished. Quoted Price was paid $3,750 will cost substantially more to remove said concrete. Also have pictures of concrete if you would like.
