Impact Energy and Roofing solicited me door to door, lied to get me to endorse permission to look at the roof, then lied to me four different times before I canceled the contract. Now he wants $4633.40 for work that was never started

We have been doing solar and roofs for over seven years now.  We do not work without a Contract, which you signed.  We spent hours and days with you on your roof and with your insurance adjuster to get this claim approved.  We also supplemented the claim to make sure you were covered for ALL damages. We work off of insurance proceeds only.  I'm not sure when in the process you went from spending hours upon hours of our time and efforts, to now you don't want our services?  Of course there will be a cancellation fee (as the Contract clearly states) for breaking the contract at the time we were ready to install your new roof.

Impact Energy is not paying their roofing contractors and therefore the roofing company has been forced to place liens on customer's properties in order to get paid by Impact, including mine. I told Impact Energy this and they are saying everyone has been paid but I spoke with the owner of the roofing company and he said that they have not and refuse to. This is criminal and they should be held liable to liquidate in order to pay their contractors are paid in full.

    Dear Sydney,

Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction and want to address your concerns directly.

First and foremost, we want to clarify the situation regarding our roofing contractors. Impact Energy values its contractors and ensures they are paid promptly and fairly. Our former license holder has made statements that do not reflect the truth. Despite his claims, he has been attending weekly meetings with our company, where his compensation has been clearly outlined and confirmed. We have documentation to support that all agreed-upon payments to him have been made in a timely manner.

Regarding your outstanding balance, our records indicate that you still owe Impact Energy $5,483.29. We believe there may be some misunderstanding or misinformation, and we are more than willing to discuss this further with you to reach a resolution.

We understand that disputes can be frustrating, and we aim to resolve them as efficiently as possible. Please contact our customer service department directly at ************ or ******************************* so we can discuss your concerns and work towards a satisfactory resolution for both parties.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to resolve this matter promptly.

I have attached the different invoices. On my original complaint, there was a summary page attached that puts everything in one summarized spot. Please let me know if you'd like me to resend that.  I am looking for a refund settlement of at least $6,000 to complete the "other work" listed on my Final Scope of Work that was NOT completed by Impact Energy, but I paid them for it ALL. OTHER work was totaled out to be $7,419.22 that Impact did NOT do.

Customer had a total insurance claim of $23,638.23 - we completed the removal & replacement of her roof, as well as all of her gutters & downspouts.  Her insurance provider only covered 24 feet of gutters, but she asked that we replace all 170 feet of gutters and downspouts.  However, we did not paint the deck or fence that was listed on the claim, which is why the check totaling $2,775 was sent back to the customer.

I am rejecting this response because: I have 4+ different invoices that contradict eachother, no quote of work or anything in writing for their project, the original contract even was half complete with TBD information. The extra Gutters don't cost $5000+.

I am out of the country right now, otherwise I would send the scope of work information that shows how much that was per measurement. I have notes on that from speaking with another roofer who also confirmed this isn't right.

Please see previous attachment with the summarized information on everything that's happened in the previous message.

    Sincerely,

We have gone over this customer's insurance paperwork, scope of work and invoices on several occasions.  Everything has been explained line by line and a refund check for any work not performed has been sent to the customer. This job has been completed and closed for a couple of months now. We realize the insurance process is a lot of paperwork and can get confusing and we have tried to walk her through it numerous times.

    Hi,

I wanted to check in on the status of my last response from 10/25. It's been nearly two weeks since I have heard anything. My last response included requested invoices. I am limited to the number of attachments I can have, but between my original complaint, and response from 10/25, you should have enough information. Can you please tell me what the status is? If the roofing company does not satisfy, what can I do next?

I am rejecting this response because: Impact Energy DBA Notorious Roofing's response is not acceptable. For a Consumer to recieve multiple invoices that are all contradicting and inaccurate with little to no information and an incomplete contract to begin with is not a way to do business. The verbal conversations, the phone calls, texts, emails that yes, were months ago clearly didn't resolve anything, which is why we are here. I would settle this complaint if they refunded me the $5,000 AT LEAST for the $7,400 of work they did not do, but took my money for.

I will not be referring this company out to anyone. I have reached out to other roofing companies whom have reviewed the Scope of Work, the *** contract and the several invoices and they've all said this isn't right and that I was taken advantage of. Now I know what to look out for.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response of because: I have tried to contact both companies with the blame being being pointed back and forth. Last time I spoke with ***************************  two weeks ago he promised to call me back and let me know what was going on and what I needed to do from here on out.. I never heard from him again and he has failed to answer my calls or my fathers. Big dog solar said they dont know why our system isnt working and to contact Impact energy. At this point someone needs to make this right. It has been nothing but a huge mess since installed and a huge financial burden to my family.

    Sincerely,

This project was installed by Big Dog Solar, not Impact Energy.  Thus, we have no access to her monitoring system or planset.  We have provided her with Big Dog's phone number.  We have also sent it to our last known contact to go troubleshoot the system.  We are cooperating with this customer and feel her pain and are doing everything we can to assist her.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/25/2022

We would love to help this customer.  The reality of the situation is that since we did not install the project, and put our warranty on it, unlike Big Dog, we don't have access to the monitoring to truly be able to determine the issue with the inverter manufacturer.  The reason we recommended contacting Big Dog is because they have this access.  The access to the monitoring plays a huge role in this because it is how you process a warranty claim through the manufacturer to fix any issues.  If Big Dog is not holding up to what they agree upon when providing the financing and installing the system, we will just have to take additional steps to get it transferred to our monitoring portal so we can process such claims.  It is a SolarEdge transfer form.  If Big Dog is still refusing to assist contact us and we will send over the form to help get your system producing.
