Affectionate Bassett Hounds is a SCAM!! I reached out for more info about a Basset Hound pup @ the email address on their site. I rcvd an email with more info & images of the pup I asked about. I also rcvd a text letting me know of the email. If I wanted to pick up the pup, half of the money was due 1st & the rest due when the pup was picked up. After I confirmed I wanted the puppy, I was told they could ship the puppy for free if I paid all of the money up front. That was a great deal, so I sent the money for the pup via Apple Pay. The next day, we were told they were on their way to the shipping company. When it came time to ship, surprisingly, the freight coupon expired the previous day. The cost to ship was $400! We received the tracking info. The pup was supposedly on his way. I then started getting emails & texts from the shipping company. All of a sudden, there needed to be $500 worth of insurance that would be refunded upon delivery. We were able to get that money, again through Apple Pay. That was paid & the tracking seemed to be updated. A couple of hours later, another refundable $500 was needed for some kind of auto regulatory crate. The pup was in the air! We got the money paid (Apple Pay) & the tracking was once again updated. Another few hours later, another message came across for some city permit. The cost was $1,000, oh but it was refundable! The breeder oddly enough checked on the shipping ***** about the same time. We told him what was going on. He said he was prepared to help us but didnt have money available that day. The breeder & the shipping company kept basically bullying me into trying to get more money! That was when I called them on their scam. We went back and forth they were basically begging for that money. They were trying to lay guilt trips that I should have feeling for the pup! I couldn't believe I had fallen for a scam!! I called ***** support to report the scam. I then went to the *** & the *** & reported the scam!
