Hello BBB, and thank you for helping me with this issue. My complaint is against *******'s Custom Framing. In November I took a picture to Michaels to have framed, of my recently deceased family member. I paid $249.94. They did not bother to put a hanger on it so I cannot hang it. It is unusable. They had shadily taped to the back of it, a plastic bag with parts in it called a "no-wire hanging system" which requires me to follow 9 complex steps including using a level and to do math, to puncture **** nails through plastic chunks and use a crayon to mark the end of each **** nail and press it to the wall to transfer some crayon onto the plaster, each side, line it up, make sure it's level, then hammer them through plastic and I believe the frame at the same time etc. I cannot figure it out, it's too hard, and nor should not have to for this kind of money. This experience is infuriating. I used *******'s about 7 years ago for $600 in picture frames and did not have to suffer this negligence of having no hanger. I called *******'s to complain, and they said it was an "honest mistake" they did not attach a hanger. Yet they taped this ridiculous "no wire hanging system" to it? They are aware of this problem and just passed it off onto me the customer to discover when I unwrapped it at home. They didn't show me the back of the picture at the pickup, only the front. I had no idea I would not be able to hang it. I asked them to refund $50, which was the value to me at the time, of having to deal with this and repair it myself and they refused. This is unacceptable. The picture sits flat on the table under papers and such, for months now. How many other old ladies and customers have to suffer this negligence from *******'s and now their hundreds of dollar portraits are sitting around, because they will get to it someday and repair it themselves, buy their own kit, or pay someone else to fix it for them? It's like unknowingly buying a car with no engine, and it was shady.
