We are in the process of selling our home and a prospective buyer selected Journey Insp to perform the home inspection. To the credit of Journey, they did a thorough job. I am writing this review because within the inspection document, there was speculation of deceit on our part. During the radon test it was stated "Although the overall average was 3.9 pCi/L, the graph shows a dramatic drop during the last 6 hours of the test, leading the inspector to believe the home was being ventilated during this time (door or window open). It is the belief of the inspector that the true level is above 4.0 pCi/L." and that "Recommend a mitigation system be installed by a qualified contractor". To speculate that we were venting the house is very concerning. The outside temperature during the test was 8 deg F with snow covered ground according to his report. He did not note that we were out of state during the test, only our 17 and 19 year old daughters were home. They would have no need to "vent" the house other than to come or leave the house. I feel that they should have re-ran the test or discussed it with us rather than place our character in question. This sort of speculation is very unprofessional and damaging. Please consider this when looking to hire Journey Inspections.

***. I was in no way calling your integrity into question. I just read the report from the radon tester and make my assessment. There is a dramatic drop at the end of the test from around 12pm to the end of the test at around 6:45pm. I never said anything was done intentionally, rather that it indicated that the home was being ventilated. The high on that day in the afternoon in Monument was 43 degrees. Again, not saying anything was done intentionally, just that that is what the data shows. It is my job to protect the buyer, in this case and I made a call based on the data. It is also up to the buyer to consult with the agents and the seller regarding a retest (which I would be happy to do).
