    On 3/11/2025, ****** ****** visited Take 5 Oil Change at ***************************************, for an oil change and was recommended to also have a coolant flush. He paid $294.49 for both services and a windshield wiper replacement. Shortly after refueling at a nearby gas station, the check engine light came on, and during a 20-mile trip to pick up kids, the car displayed abnormal RPMs and struggled to accelerate properly. Returning to Take 5, manager ***** ****** discovered the air filter wasnt seated correctly and ran a diagnostic that revealed transmission issues. ****** recommended ********** for further diagnostics, but due to scheduling constraints, ****** ****** had to return home without resolution.On 3/12/2025, **** ****** took the car to **********, where diagnostics revealed transmission issues and the car stuck in limp mode (1st gear). Big O recommended towing the vehicle to ******************** ******************* discovered coolant leaking into the transmissions electrical components, causing severe damage. Estimated repair costs totaled $***** for transmission replacement. On 3/13/2025, the Edbergs sent Take 5 the repair quote.Between 3/14 and 3/18/2025, the Edbergs repeatedly sought updates from Take 5, speaking to ***** ****** and receiving acknowledgment of the issue from ******* ***** but no resolution. Due to lack of communication, the ******* sent a list of demands, including contact from the franchise owner, insurance company and a plan of action. They feel it is fair to request Take 5 cover the repair costs (*****), rental fees ($350), and reimbursement of the original $294.49. They note similar issues with vehicles at this Take 5 location, which opened recently.

The shop that you visited at ********************************************************* is a Franchise location meaning it is privately owned and operated.This shop will handle all service failures themselves.
