  I hired these guys last year for a basement finish. I asked if it was within their ability and they swore up and down that it was. They started a week after they said they would. That wasn't a huge deal, however from then on they never showed up before 10:30 and didn't stay past 3. I had an hours worth of clean up after them every day. They literally had trash and debris everywhere, inside and outside. The "finished" product was atrocious. Walls they built were literally out of square by over an inch in 5 feet. The drywall around outlets was cut so poorly even special order extra large covers would not cover their cuts. The rough in's for iterior doors were literally off by 4". The finish on the drywall was terrible. In a 400 SF room it looks like 6 different finishes. trowel marks in the texture is the least of the problems. I paid the owner of the company in full with the promise that he'd fix all of any problems I pointed out. He came out the next day with a spray can and made the problems worse. He said the only way to make it better would be to completely re-do it. He also asked "what did I expect from a guy not named *****." He told me that it would look great if I painted it. I tried that to no avail and then he said I must have "been ok with it if I painted it. I asked for the money for labor back, I figured that was fair as I know the materials are a hard cost. They said no way. It's not even a year later and you can see all of the drywall joints and the corners are cracking. The owner and his son are hacks and con artists. BUYER BEWARE!!!

  I dispute the truthfulness of details in the the above review. Customers are allowed to be dissatisfied but it is regrettable that BBB and social media sites allow customers to post reviews with blatant lies. Below please see my response to the complaint that this gentleman filed with BBB. The complaint was deemed resolved following my response to BBB but that prompted this review. My business ethics are beyond reproach and I would proudly provide references from customers that Ive served locally since ****. The gentleman filing this complaint regarding the drywall finish texture was present during most of the time that work was being preformed. He did not voice any complaints about the finish over the few days that I was working on his home and he paid in full by check on 2.28.2022. The following day he sent a text expressing disappointment with the finish and commenting that he spent hours each night cleaning up my job site. I called him and went to his home later that afternoon. He was in the process of painting the basement drywall when I arrived. He pointed out a few areas of concern to which I applied spray on texture and hand troweled. He continued painting while I was there. When I was outside ready to leave and asking if we were good he mentioned one other area. It was an area of old texture that I had applied the new texture over at his request. We had discussed while that part of the room was being sprayed that there would be some variation with the texture on that area compared to the texture of the new wall area. He had said he was aware of this and that it was fine. I offered to go back into his home to address the concerns he was now raising with this area. He told me he did not want me to reenter the home, took the remainder of the spray on texture that I offered him, fist bumped (Covid handshake)and I left. Two weeks later the gentleman sent a text, berating the drywall work, calling me a hack and a con, and requesting that the portion of the $1000 paid that was for my 3-4 days labor on this job be refunded. My response to his refund request was that I completed the work requested, he paid in full upon completion, I returned to address his concerns, and that he could call me at either of the above numbers to discuss things.I take issue with his assertion that he spent hours cleaning up after me because at the end of each days work I would thoroughly sweep and sponge mop the floor and clean up the work area. Upon arriving for work the following mornings I did not notice any marked change to the job site that would indicate anyone had done additional cleaning. I take issue with his comment that I admitted to problems and then came back and couldnt fix them. This is not correct. It is unfortunate that after the work was completed and he was painting over the drywall he expressed disappointment with the finish. I personally like the finish and more relevantly know that I applied it competently.Lastly, to his comment that I am inept and have no integrityI have been in business in this town since ****. I have preformed work under the same company name, address & phone numbers for the entire time that I have been in business.*** Thomas is Thomas Home Improvement. Homeowners, builders, management companies, suppliers, distributors and other home improvement companies all recommend Thomas Home Improvement because they know the quality of my workmanship and my character are beyond reproach.In the 35 plus years that I have been in business no one has ever expressed an opinion about the quality of my work and about my character such as this gentleman is expressing.Never.
