    This landowner charges fees for hunting and lodging on their ranch. In 2021 we applied for cow elk tags and we were not drawn. The owner required we send a 50% deposit and a $500 REFUNDABLE cleaning fee. We had sent her a total of $1900 for two of us. We notified the owner we weren't drawn, whereupon she told us our deposits were non-refundable and we could apply for tags the following year. The 2021 cow elk/lodging fee was $1400. We applied for cow elk tags for 2022 and were drawn. Prior to applying for tags, we called (03/22) Mrs. B***** to confirm the right zone. She told us the zone, but never mentioned any price changes. We were drawn. We called her again to get some dates we could come back and hunt cow elk. She then told us the cow elk fee is now $2000, and the cleaning fee is now NONREFUNDABLE. We think she should have given the choice to get a refund when she raised her fee 42% and she should have disclosed her fee increase prior to applying and paying for tags. Our cabin was approximately 120 sq feet and we had to bring our own bedding and towels. How can anyone charge a $500 nonrefundable cleaning fee for those accommodations? Her website indicates they provide **** **. No, it's a lie. We were told they stopped paying for **** **. Our hunt was fine. We both filled our tags, however we have concerns with the owner's business ethics and perhaps crossing legal lines.
