Beware! A friend of a family member had gotten an elk and didn't need the meat. He was going to process it himself OR take it in for processing if he had someone that wanted the meat. I called this company before I agreed to take the animal to find out how much it would cost to process it and have it shipped. I was told that for the size of animal that it was it would be about $450.00 to process. I was told that it would be about $185.00 to ship it to my zip code. I was willing to drive to Colorado to pick it up but I agreed to have it shipped for the amount that I was quoted for shipping. For less than $700.00, I agreed to take the animal. To make a very long and unpleasant story short, my credit card was charged $1,656.83! I was told that my card would be charged $995.59 the day that it was ready to ship. That was more than I was originally told, that the additional amount was for the dry ice and the coolers, so I agreed to have it shipped. I was told my card would be charged the $995.59. I called to discuss the discrepancy and I was told that there was nothing that they would do to help me with the misunderstanding regarding the charges, and that if I didn't pay them, they were going to go back on the gentleman that dropped off the elk. It was not his fault that the person that I was speaking to didn't have his facts right! I was willing to meet them half way if they would agree to "eat" the processing fees. I would have been willing to pay for the shipping if they would have acknowledged their misrepresentation. They were not willing to do that. While I was on the phone with the better business bureau, they left me a message that they would take $100.00 off of the processing fee. Not enough, as far as I was concerned. I would not recommend that this processor be used by anyone. Very unprofessional and not good business. We know many people that use this company for their beef and wild game processing who will no longer be using them.
