I hired Cabinet Refinishing Denver,LLC to paint kitchen&bathroom cabinets. May 11,2021 ************** removed all doors&drawer fronts from my premises. There were NO missing doors. I wrote a $2500 check payable to ************************* that day as a deposit. ************** returned to replace painted doors on June 3,2021; however there were 5 doors missing. He claimed there was a "chemical reaction" but I would have them in ***** days. Foolishly I trusted him&paid the remaining balance of $2500. There were numerous emails&phone calls. ************* brought a guy named ***** to measure door openings and said I would have them soon. Next they said they would find someone to make doors to match mine. Again numerous emails and phone calls initiated by me. Next they claimed I hired ***** to make doors. Not True! I only saw him when he came to measure, was not introduced to him, but ************* said ***** is his Uncle. December 2021 ************* called to say they ordered new doors from the manufacturer and were due by January 10,2022. That didn't happen. I went on ProblemSolvers Feb. 2022; next day ***** emailed they would take care of this, but by **** 2023 I was still waiting. Jan. 6,2023 I emailed ***** requesting refund of $5000 since it had been 1 1/2 years and I can't put my home on the market in this condition. ***** replied it was not his responsibiity since the contract was for painting doors, not making them, even tho they are the ones who broke them. It's been necessary for me to hire another company to make ALL NEW doors and drawer fronts, costing $17,400, ***** operates under many different names (I have found 15! ) possibly in an attempt to stay under the radar. I found a Sec.ofState document changing the name&anyactive trade names on 1/5/23. I'm trying to file a claim in Small Claims but so far unable to find a residential address for *****.. This dilemma is full of false claims, lies & deceit. ************* is dishonest in his business dealings and deserves to be investigated.

A). They advertise on their website that their company provides factory finish cabinets that look brand new and they do certain prep to ensure customer's *********************** are painted correctly and look good. However, as soon I complained that the cabinets didn't look good and the proper prep steps weren't done, I was told, none of the prep work they put on their website is included in the service. It's all extra! You don't find out until afterwards that the bid was based on doing no prep. Looking at prior reviews, they've done this to numerous other customers as well.1). This is false advertising via their website 2). They tried to use to extra work to get a good review regardless of the quality of the work. For Example - They said, if you promise to give me a good review, I will go ahead and do all this extra work for free. 3). This tactic is used as a revenue stream to up the price after the customer has already paid a non-refundable deposit. 4). It's industry standard for painters to fill gaps and holes prior to painting, they are trying to decieve me.B). Our contract specifically says, "bondo and fill all holes and sand smooth", yet they won't agree to do it. C). I've already paid the 50% deposit. however they won't do any work unl I pre-pay for the entire job (even though the contract says the final payment is due upon completion). They have only done approx 15% of the work so far.D). They've taken my cabinet doors and drawers (worth $8-10K) and will not return them to me unless I give them more money. E). Instead of responding to my complaint about the cabinets not being painted correctly, they reported to the police that I stole their painting equipment (because the painter left some equipment in my house). The police actually came to my door to retrieve the equipment I supposedly stole.F). They are advertising and operating under numerous different company names, however, none of the names are correctly reg w/ the Colo Sec of State.

    Business Response

I would like to say that this lady is a con artist. She has taken the signed contract between herself and cabinet refinishing Denver and breached it multiple times. She is stating that she has every right to breach the contract and to add work at any given time to a already agreed upon and signed contract because she says its to be expected. 1. As the contract that she signed states any extra work not in this contract will be charged accordingly. She was trying to make us Bondo all her seams and use cheap latex caulking which is a water-based product and you cannot use water-based products plus you cannot sand caulking.

    2. Our original agreed-upon contract had schedule finished dates. Because we would not do or agree the free work she demanded us to do that was not part of our agreed-upon and signed contract she threw us out of her house based on her false assumption that she wants the extra work done for free and she wants us to #Warranty to stay the same using cheap latex caulking which we will not warranty and this is why we did not put this in the original contract because we dont use latex caulking on expensive lacquer based kitchen cabinets transitioning from stain and lacquer to a solid color.

    3. Our contract states that the client cannot go to anybody in our company other than myself and she did exactly that and went to my son on several occasions and was trying to make him do the extra work that was not in the agreed-upon signed contract and she was trying to make him sign her contract and he refused. She got upset and asked him to get out of her house.

***************************** is in default of contract on multiple breaches. She also went to all of our different locations for our websites and left false and defaming reviews claiming that we left her house in shambles and we are holding her doors hostage when we have offered to give her her doors back several times through email and she refuses to answer back.

She continues to play the victim and will not return our email and claims that I am harassing her and bothering her and not to ever bother her or contact her again. ***************************** can pick up her doors at any time she would like and all she has to do is schedule a date to come and pick up her doors. When we offered her this she said absolutely not! You will finish the free work or Im going to take you to court. Her definition of a factory finish is misconstrued and is off because the definition of a factory finish is a sprayed on finished that does not consist of brush marks or roller marks.

This is the contract that we both agreed upon and signed and no where does it state we are going to caulk cracks using cheap latex caulking or Bondo her seams which we highly recommend not to do because of the high probability of not just the caulking but the seams re-cracking.
