    Complaint: 20302101

I am rejecting this response because:  First of all in order for my truck to be parked over the area that is chipping away as stated  by Greenworks my bumper would have to be touching the garage door which it does not.  Now there are other parts of the driveway starting to chip up in the same area.  Yes they did put blankets down but I believe that parts of it was blow up from the wind.  I think I asked him to come check it for that reason.  Secondly I put my truck in the garage and there is no chipping of cement from mag chloride in the garage.  Thirdly there is no chipping on the driveway where my wife's car is parked.  Fourthly the other driveway they did for us is not chipping up and the tenants cars are parked outside year around. Fifthly why would he warrant the driveway for 2 years if I rejected having him put a sealer on it.  The only time any protection for mag chloride was mentioned is when Arnulfo  came out to bid the job and assured me the concrete would be protected from mag chloride chipping.  There are other areas of the driveway that we agreed needed to be replaced due to slope and not being level.  There is a large portion of the 2 car side that has a big dip in it that needs to be replaced because I believe they we running short of concrete when the drive was poured.  I questioned ******* when he was finishing the concrete in the lower portion of the driveway as to whether he was going to have enough concrete to finish that area because it appeared he was running short of concrete and he replied yes.   What he did was drag concrete from the lower middle portion of the drive to finish that area which cased a dip in the driveway. There is also portion of the top right of the 2 car drive that needs to be replaced.  I was not agreeable to having parts of the driveway cut out and being replaced as ******* suggested doing at that meeting.   He said if I wanted the driveway totally replaced it would cost another $4000.  I told him I would not pay to have him fix a driveway he has warranted.  He is a very hard person to talk with because he always has a reason why he is not responsible for anything.  Being frustrated I did tell him I would get back in touch.  This was all before the drive started chipping.   In addition to this the sidewalk needs to be replaced because of the grade the driveway has.  ******* did agree that the driveway should not be that sloped.  Based upon the chipping and other problems I do not want the driveway to be cut and pasted back together.  At this point I want my money refunded so that I can have someone else redo the driveway and sidewalk

    Sincerely,

*************************t be a problem as the concrete would be protected from this issue. Of course he does not remember this conversation. He tried to tell me that I would not let him protect the driveway from mag chloride issues which is untrue. He has done several driveways in our neighborhood and non of them have had this problem including another driveway he did for me on February 14, 2022 when the temperature was higher when this driveway was poured. I have had no problem so far with the second driveway chipping up. I spoke with ******* in May of 2023 and told him that I wanted a refund or to have the driveway completely replaced. He said he needed to speak with other big companies regarding their warranties and get back to me. I did not understand why he needed to do this as I contracted with Greenworks not another company. I have not ************************* since June 2, 2023,

    Business Response

    Date: 07/21/2023

    Hello,
This is a response to the complaint we have received regarding chipping starting on the left upper side of the driveway. GreenWorks installed this driveway in February 2022, as ************************* mentioned. My team did install the concrete driveway as mentioned in low temperatures, but one thing ************** did not mention was that GreenWorks covered the concrete with concrete blankets for 5 consecutive days and nights, after the concrete was installed.
So, now the problem is being presented from Mr.****** point of view is that the concrete started to chip due to the low temperature & therefore needs a refund/replacement. ************* called me expressing concern for the driveway. I met up with him. I offered to clean the sidewalk, and add sealer to protect the driveway. He told me that he didnt want any of the services. He essentially went no contact after I provided that information, and said he would contact me if he needed me. I received a call from ************* and we set up a meeting. We came to a conclusion that the concrete section on the left side of the driveway needed to be replaced due to leveling problems, not due to the chipping.
What GreenWorks has come to conclusin is that, the chipping has occurred by the lack of protection that the sealer offers. Since ************** declined the sealer service, the concrete was left vulnerable for salt damage coming in from the snowy roads. We can evidently see how this is true. Only the left upper side of the concrete driveway has started to experience chipping. While the other areas have not. The chipping has occurred in the area ************* stationed his truck on the left upper side of the concrete closest to his front door step.
To conclude, GreenWorks is responsibly responding and proposing to replace the left upper section of the concrete driveway due to leveling foundation problems on that side. The chipping is not GreenWorks responsibility since ***************** denied our sealer protection. GreenWorks is not responsible for replacing the whole concrete area or refunding the concrete

I hired Greenworks to install concrete and sod in my backyard in May of 2022. I paid him $21,000 in full when the job was complete. On the contract I signed we had a 1 year warranty in case anything goes wrong. In June I noticed a sprinkler would not pop up to water the yard. I asked ***** to come over and fix it and he never showed up, this happened 3 times. So I called another landscape place to blow out my sprinklers and asked them to look at the sprinkler. They stated that there was a ton of debris in the sprinkler and it needed to be replaced and that if my work was still under warranty to call Greenworks to get it fixed. I called, text and emailed ***** from Greenworks the week of November 7th and have received no answer.

On 3/15/22, *****************************, owner of GreenWorks', replaced our driveway and walkway to front porch. We paid him $11,000.00 in full for this project. On 6/21/22, we noticed a (stress) crack across the entire walkway and that the "white ***** driveway sealer was wearing/washing off the new concrete. We called, texted and sent photos of the problems to ****************** numerous times. Several times he called back to say he would stop by "next week" see inspect the problems. To date, ****************** has never come back as promised. The warranty on his invoice is for 12 months from the date of completion on all materials. We simply want what we paid him for and to correct the problems noted. I have photos of these problems.
