  NOT HAPPY WITH THE FLAKING OF MY NEW CONCRETE DRIVEWAY . Custom Grey Concrete replaced my old driveway. About one year later the concrete started flaking ( pits in the surface, exposed aggregate, etc ). This problem occured because of improper trowel finishing of the concrete. I can accept a little flaking, but there is such a large % of the total square feet of area where flaking is occurring that the concrete looks worse then neighboring driveways that are 20+ years old. There are new driveways in my neigborhood that has NO flaking. Also within the warrenty period cracking occurred in several locations. I contracted ****** and he can out to repair the cracks. His first choice of repairing the cracks was just to put a thin coating of something over the cracks...?? This would not stop the concrete from cracking more, it would only cover up the cracks. A concrete contractor should know that you do not fix cracking concrete with a thin cosmetic solution. This indicated to me that you just wanted to do a quick and inexpensive cosmetic solution to cover up the problem until the warrenty expired. I was surprised and dissapointed that you tried to do this type of repair. A concrete contractor should know better then this. I refused you inferior suggestion and requested that you remove the cracked concrete and repour new concrete. You did repour the concrete. But the existing concrete where flaking is occurring still remains. These area will get worse , and deteriorate quicker. My new driveway looks worse that my neighbors older concrete driveway. I sent Custom Grey Concrete an email explaining the problems but NO REPLY. In summary I am sorry that I used Custom Grey Concrete .
