    "If we were in the business of giving refunds, we wouldn't be in business at all", is the statement I received from ******* the owner of Denver DNA Center, then proceeded to give me advice on what next step I can take to stir me away from the idea that I no longer needed the service she provided and which I paid a good chunk of the total amount that's due for the service initially, she kept over talking me, only letting me speak a bit to explain the receipt that was given to me in the beginning by her, to insure if the other party didn't do the test that I would get a refund if I contacted her within the 1 year of the date written on the receipt. She then proceeded to over talk me saying that why would it be her fault that the other party didn't show, if she was a bigger company this would never happen they don't offer refunds, on her website it says no refunds, and the best yet if we were in the business of giving refunds , we wouldn't be in business at all. Well, I didn't use her business, I used partial which was holding my DNA, I paid $325 of my hard earned money, I am a proud husband, father of 3 and head of household financially, I had some money to try and fight for justice on a case to get my life on the right track so I can provide for my family with out having a debt over my shoulders and seened this "business" could help me. And to say she can't refund me atleast half my money back just the fact I didn't use her service and there was no statement of no refunds of the day of the transaction, nor written on the receipt or her "website" that she kept repeating, which I didn't go through when I found her "company", I went found her number and set an appointment . She completely cut contact from me and obviously for something so small I won't take it to small claims that'd be financially stupid on my end. So this is the only justice I can get. I highly would not recommend doing business with this one person "company", severally bad for business.

    This customer purchased a paternity test a year ago, and submitted a buccal mouth swab sample. He explained that the mother would bring in the child to submit a buccal mouth swab sample soon after to complete the testing. I explained our no refund policy and how we do not get involved in domestic disputes if the other person decides not to participate in testing but we offer to hold the case as pending for up to 1 year if our customers have to pursue legal action to force the other party to participate in testing. The customer said he understood and insisted on paying for the test in full because he assumed the mother would bring the child in for testing.

    After one year, this customer called into our office and demanded a full refund because he said the mother is ignoring his calls and ****** to bring the child in for testing. I re-explained our no refund policy and recommended that he pursue legal action against the mother in court because a judge could rule that she bring the child into our office via a court order. This is the case with many of our customers who have high conflict paternity cases. I also explained that we could keep his dna samples in the pending category for a little while longer which would give him more time to pursue legal action.

    The customer again demanded a full refund, and threatened to post negative business reviews. I re-explained that we have a strict no refund policy that was explained to him before he paid for the test. I also explained that we have this policy on our website, and reminded him that he agreed to the policy while in our office.

    This customer has caused us to change the way we do business for other customers. We thought we were offering compassion and flexible payment plans for our customers but this customer has shown us that we can no longer allow a customer who does not have the consent of the other party to complete testing to do the test. We are not in the business of domestic disputes, we are in the business of paternity testing.

    It is unfortunate that one customer can ruin the opportunity for other customers that need this flexible testing plan but it is not worth the risk of being involved with customers who are not doing business with us in good faith.

     

    We wish this customer well but we do not offer refunds.
