    I submitted a request for a copy of my grandparent's marriage certificate in August of 2024, I was told that the record would be processed in 2-weeks, and I followed-up 10/11/2024, 11/4/2024, 11/10/2024, 12/11/2024, 2/6/2025 and 4/18/2025 with the request being pushed off as to "in process." After my last follow-up, I am now being told that the document could take up to 2-years to be processed. I was also misled to believe that I would be receving a certiified copy of the document, but after speaking to someone in Vital Statistics in *********, **, I was told that this information can only be released as an uncertified copy and I would need a court order to obtain a certified copy. The website is misleading as it registered under USAVital, and than e-mails come from BackgroundsUSA. I'm concerned that this in not a reputable business, there is no direct customer service line and I do not want other consumers mislead into believing documentation will be processed within a reasonable timeframe.

    I ordered my birth certificate back in ********* and still have not received it. I emailed them a month later to check on the status of my order, I was told it would be delivered shortly. Its ************ and still no birth certificate received. I tried calling the 1800 number and it says no longer in service. This is very unprofessional and sketchy! Sensitive information has been shared with this company also all charges were paid but no service rendered. This needs to be taken care of expeditiously!!

    I am rejecting this response because: I dont expect the BBB to be a middle man, I know exactly what they are for and thats why I left a complaint. I said previously that sensitive information was shared with your business in order for a service to be rendered, which was not. I think its appropriate to contact/file a complaint with the BBB because this is very problematic, unprofessional, Id also hate to see anyone else go through what me and others have gone through with your company. I would appreciate it if you would expedite the process in order to find out where my documents are and how to resolve this issue.

    On September 3rd, 2024 I ordered a copy of my mother's death certificate in regards to her resolution of property. I hired Backgrounds USA / ************ for the certificate. I paid them ***** for the document and it never came. I contacted the company multiple times and they told me it would arrive within 7-10 business days but it has been weeks.

    To Whom It May ********* ordered a copy of my marriage certificate on the archives.com website and I have not received an update on the status of the document. I do not reside in Virginia for some reason, maybe she was ******* the message. Plus I never got any attachments for a form to be completed and I uploaded a copy of my drivers license. NO PHONE NUMBER WORKS AT ALL!!! I NEED THIS DOCUMENT FOR MY PASSPORT AND THE COMMUNICATION IS NOT GREAT AT ALL!!! Looking forward to the response. I am also going file a complaint with the BBB today!! On September 4th I received the following message:Hello *******, We have received your request for a copy of a marriage certificate! Please follow the instructions attached to this email. The current turnaround time for the State of Virginia is 2 - 4 weeks and there is no way to expedite. **VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ** 1. No additional payment is required, only the form and a copy of your photo ID are required.2. Your documents must be mailed to: USA Vital Attn: ************* N ******* St ****** ** ***** Be advised that if you chose to cancel within 30 days, a $15 cancellation fee will be applied. We will be happy to continue processing your request upon receipt of this information. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions.     Order placed on April 14, 2023 with very little communication since. Its now been two and a half months. Finally contacted company looking for answers to no avail. Refused me a refund and basically told me where to go and how to get there. This is one of their many third party companies that Archives.com uses to charge $75 for a $15 birth certificate. **** also be filling a complaint with Archives.com.

    The business archives offers you a free 14 day trial. I tried simply signing onto the site to see what is was like. That was Dec 8, 2022. I requested a refund through Archives for ***** and now two weeks later after telling me I received a credit understand that the site that makes you pay a fee is in the shadows and that usvitals.com charged my card. I requested a refund but Archives lied to me my not telling me who charged me. Stay away as this information is free from the SEc of State or local government. None of this should be public.

    On 5-3-2022 I paid $56.83 Order #********* for a birth certificate. After 2 months of not receiving it I started trying to contact USAVitals/AuthoriCheck. There listed phone number ************** has only been answered 1 time after numerous calls. The agent gave me an email address that bounced back as non existent on their server. She said I didn't provide a signed form which I did provide. I have tried emails to both ******************************* and ****************************************** with no response.
