We scheduled a paid consultation with Attorney ****** Ellis. This is the email covering what the $300 consultation fee would cover. Dear ******, Thank you for contacting the Livelihood Law Firm. I have reviewed the summary of your situation with one of our attorneys and, based on the information you provided, they think that we can help and that there is the possibility of a case. Therefore, they are recommending an Initial Consultation to discuss the strength of your claims in-depth and provide their professional opinion about your best legal options moving forward. The cost of the consultation is a flat fee of $300. We only recommend a consultation if we think we can help with someone's specific situation. Here are 4 reasons why we charge a consultation fee: You will be meeting with a licensed employment lawyer. Not a paralegal or legal assistant. You will get a case analysis specific to your situation rather than a sales pitch. Many lawyers that offer free consultations do so to sell you on their firm rather than answer your questions and provide you with information about your legal situation. Our goal is not to get a quick look at as many prospective cases as possible but to focus on evaluating the cases that we think will be a good fit with our practice. We are serious about understanding your legal issue. Employment law is complex, and we take the time to analyze your situation and explain what your best legal options are. Our Initial Consultation appointments are scheduled on a weekly basis based on a short waitlist. If you would like to get on the waitlist for an Initial Consultation, please let us know by responding to this email and we will call you when an appointment becomes available. I look forward to hearing from you!Livelihood Law, LLC **************************************************************** D: ************** F: ************** www.livelihoodlaw.com After the consultation She agreed to take our case and asked for a $1000.00 retainer fee. She knew we only had 90 days to file and strung us along until last week ( giving us less than a week to find counsel) to say she wasn't moving forward. One invoice stated we were charged for a demand letter. Not even sure why because she didn't plan on demanding anything. We received a "nutshell " email which is nothing more than an analysis. So we asking our retainer be reimbursed.

We are bound to protect attorney client privilege, and that is always the clients privilege to waive, so we cannot say very much. We liked ************** and his wife very much. He signed a fee agreement and we believe that we complied with our agreement, which required us to do significant legal analysis. If you would like to investigate, please ask him for the fee agreement language describing what he retained us to do and about the significant discount (63%) that was extended as a courtesy when we declined to offer representation for litigation.
