In Feb 2024 I hired ******* ****** from 2020 Construction Services to build a detached 2 car garage in my backyard. I signed a contract that indicated payments made after certain milestones were completed. He told me that permits were filed with the city and approved, and he started construction. 3 weeks later, I got a stop work order from the city because permits had in-fact NOT been filed and **** straight up lied in order to get the project moving and his next check. He had bought all materials preemptively and left them in my yard. Since we had started construction without permits, the city started investigating and it took about 4 months. During this time, the wood sat in my yard and rotted from the rain. Through every part of this process, **** was dishonest with me and lied in order to move things along so he could get paid. I knew this, but since i had already given him so much money, I continued with him because I knew i was not getting any money back, so I had to see some ROI. Eventually he started building again, but nothing was up to code and there were several zoning violations. I had to pay out of pocket to remedy these and file for appeals. I eventually dropped him as a contractor and had to pay another 20k to another company to finish the garage. At one point while **** was still my contractor, I caught him smoking crack in his truck during a break. He also defecated in my yard once I cut ties with him. All in all, I have a very good legal case against him, but i know he quite literally does not have anything, so suing him wont give me any of my money back. His truck was repo'd while he was my contractor and I think he became homeless at one point.

On Friday, January 5th, 2024 I hired *************************** of ****************** 20/20 Construction. License *************. I had received an estimate for work to be done on the master bedroom, main floor and basement of 36K. I was having difficulty contacting the contractor and invited ******* to come and give his estimate. ******* agreed match the previous estimate and to do all the projects (master F.P., kitchen cabinet paint, recess lighting, under cabinet lighting, install the stairway chandelier, do the high painting, tile in foyer and kitchen, new main floor fireplace insert, main fire place tile, bringing garage electrical up to code, and the entire remodel of the basement which included moving the bedroom, installing an egress window with well, recess lighting, dry bar area, and move the laundry room over finishing everything except the floors and paint. ******* began working on January 6th, 2024. He gave me the estimation that the master floor f.p. and main floor would be finished and be move in ready January 27th.It is now June 9th and the project is still not completed - plus the damage! The newly finished floors have suffered many deep scratches and over spray from the cabinets which the estimate for repairs is $1,300. The refrigerator was dented, basement bathroom door has a hole. The glass in the cabinets was broken. Every "new" deadline for entire job completion goes by and the job is still not done. NONE of the projects have been completed. They are all in different stages of work. Now ******* is requesting more money to pay for materials I have already paid for. I explained he will get 2k (labor) when the entire job is complete by 6/11 as per our latest and last agreement. I will be getting an estimate for the cost of finishing all of the projects he has failed to complete and will be passing the cost to *******, including all the materials he should have purchased with the money paid to him. *************************** should NOT have a good rating.
