In October 2024, Anderson Construction Group, Inc. solicited me regarding my roof. I received an estimate and signed a contract on 10/16/24, and approval was given by my insurance company. Prior to the insurance inspector coming, several representatives did numerous walkthroughs in the interior/exterior of my home. No one showed up when my insurance inspector arrived, though they were scheduled to be there. Partial payment was rendered to them for the roof on November 5, 2024.On December 4th, 2024, we had an appointment for the work to begin. I was under the assumption, as I was told, that a project manager would be on-site to ensure the work of the contractors while replacing the roof. No one other than the contractors was present that day; shortly thereafter, we heard a loud crash, and it was the glass globe from the light in the ceiling falling in my wife's dialysis room. The roofers completed the job the same day, and soon after, I reached out to Anderson with several concerns. There was debris left in the window *****, and a proper cleanup was never performed by their contractors. In the partial cleanup that occurred, my stepson's sunflowers were ripped up from the ground and destroyed. I also inquired as to when **** would be coming to inspect the work and was immediately met with hostility, stating they were not a shady ********************* were 16 weeks out. There was never a permit pulled prior to them beginning the roofing work or after they finished. In fact, a permit was actually issued on January 6, 2025. When I spoke to the inspector, he asked who had done my roof. The permit #P68537 was pulled for the roof on 1/6/25 in the amount of $8100, but the initial check I provided was for over $8700.00.A few weeks later, I received a phone call from **** regarding the ****** review written by my stepson regarding the debris being left and the removal of his sunflower plants. I was offered $500 to have him remove the review. He has not agreed to do so.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. We have had several communications with the homeowner regarding their issues and every phone call is recorded for quality assurance purposes. Throughout these conversations, multiple various problems were addressed including the lamp on the inside of the home. The homeowner was informed prior to work starting (and signed a document stating so), that we are not responsible for damages on the inside of the home as we are performing work on the exterior. Work on the roof can cause vibrations that may produce damages inside that are out of our control. We respectfully let the homeowner know that this is the case but offered to pay for the light cover once they furnished a receipt which we have yet to receive. The permit was unfortunately delayed in being pulled but the roof has successfully passed inspection as of 4/15/2025 up to code as PPRBD requires.
In response to our project manager being on site, they are not there for the entirety of the build and come by throughout the day to make sure the project is being performed properly. Issues regarding cleanup stating that we ripped out any landscaping are implausible as we take before and after photos to make sure that any pre-existing damages are documented and if any new damage is caused that we will compensate accordingly. The review was requested to be removed as the review is a slander of our business in which the homeowner's stepson falsely accused us of stealing their neighbor's dog which after further review, and conversation with the homeowner, turned out to be inaccurate. It seems there are several "complaints" so that they may receive compensation. Our representative offered a $500 discount as a courtesy for the problems that occurred throughout the process as we are still owed $6,777.98 for our work we completed. We are in a business to profit and are legally obligated to work based on the insurance proceeds as required by Colorado Senate Bill 38.
We are more than happy to resolve said complaint by providing a discount of $500 with a remaining balance of $6,277.98. As previously stated, all of our conversations are recorded and we always try to work with the homeowner to resolve any sort of issues internally. Our company performed the work with proper licensing and permitting and we have fulfilled our duty to pass the inspection as required by *****. Additionally, although we do not cover damages inside of the home we gladly offered a discount as a courtesy. We are obligated to work based on insurance valuation and again are in business to profit. We will resolve this issue by reducing the final invoice as mentioned above for $6,277.98.

I am rejecting this response because:
Several communications were made with Anderson about the roof. Their workers did not inform us of their arrival, and pre-inspections did not mention potential damage to the light and smoke detector from vibrations. A permit was requested only after the roof was completed on 12/4/2024, following my call to Regional questioning its absence. The permit was pulled on Jan 6, 2025, as required for roof replacements in ********/***************
No project manager was present during the entire replacement day, and no supervision of cleanup was done. We have cameras recording that no one announced their presence.
The roof replacement was covered by homeowners insurance, with no false claims made for discounts. Referral credits ($500 each) were expected but not honored.
Anderson claims I owe $6,777.98. The total claim was $12,208.86, with check #**** for $8,722.89 provided before work began, leaving a balance of $3,485.97 due after inspection on 4/15/2025, delayed again due to the permit not being pulled until after the roof was completed. The roof was not inspected for over 4 months from the date of completion which does not align with roofing contract laws in the state of *********
Sincerely,
**** QuickBusiness Response

This complaint has been resolved with the client directly via phone communication. The referral credit and discount is being honored with the homeowner agreeing to pay their balance in full upon receipt of funds from the insurance company. We will be invoicing their insurance so they can send the remaining payment to the homeowner and in turn pay their invoice. Additionally, the inspection process is out of our control and up to the **************************** Division. They are currently on a 4-6 month timeline for inspections which can be confirmed directly with that department. We value your response and appreciate coming to a resolution. We used this company to repair damages to our home from a storm. We have a contract stating that our roof, two windows, and garage door would be replaced. They took the check from our insurance. They only replaced the roof, and did not to any of the other work. No one will respond to our phone calls. It has been two months.Business Response

Hello, this project is an insurance restoration project which requires certain steps be followed. The homeowner has been informed on several occasions that in order for us to complete the work we must get approval from their insurance company (primarily for the garage door). We are required to have them agree upon the cost prior to getting the door replaced so that they will pay the total and it not end up being a responsibility of the homeowner. Additionally, we have let the insured know that their windows have been ordered but as these are custom, they take several months for them to be manufactured. As described in the uploaded paperwork on page 3, the homeowner has acknowledged and is aware of the timeline for job completion.
Furthermore, we have collected a payment of $28,*** and as stated in the paperwork uploaded, we do reserve the right to collect payment in full for the items completed before moving on to the next trade. Based on the paperwork, we have completed the roof as well as gutters/downspouts for a total of approximately $35,***. This means that although a down payment has been made, it does not cover the current agreed upon cost from insurance (prior to any additional supplements).
We have never stated we will not complete the work, but have simply informed the homeowner on the timelines for such trades. The windows are items not covered by insurance but we are replacing them as a sign of good faith and they have already been ordered. The garage door must be approved (cost-wise) by insurance before we can install it and we have been in constant communication with the insured's insurance carrier. Both remaining items will be completed by following the proper steps.
Homeowner's resolution of requesting that we complete the work is already what we are doing and doing so the accurate way. We hope to have this job finished in a timely manner, as we are more invested in its completion so that we may collect any remaining funds.
