    At the beginning of the year, I decided to update my kitchen, and this included an update to my kitchen countertops. I hired Granite and Marble Designs **** to install Quartz countertops in my kitchen. The service was great until it wasnt. I give an A on countertop color selection, responsiveness, and the measurement and installation of all but one section of the countertops.That said, I have one small section (***** x 15.5) of my countertop that when installed was not even with its counterpart on the other side of the stove. The company rather than fixing the section came up with a number of excuses why it wasnt their fault. I understand that walls in most buildings are not square and that the drawer fronts of my refaced cabinets are different from the old, but as a fabricator and installer of 100s and 1000s of countertops, I would have thought they would have noticed the discrepancy when they installed the countertop. I stupidly thought that GMD would do the right thing and come up with a solution and fix the issue. Sadly not. I as the consumer came up with a viable solution. To add insult to the matter, GMD said they would charge me $350 to make the adjustment. Luckily, my cabinet refacer was recently at my place making a minor correction on a decorative panel and he offered to make the adjustment to that one section and did so at no additional cost to **** am not expecting any monetary compensation by GMD, but an apology about the crappy service they provided on that one small section would be appreciated.
