I was told that my move would take about a day, moving from my house to another house. I asked if this meant around eight hours and was told it was. I assumed plus or minus a couple. I was charged for 15 hours and they did not bring a big enough truck to hold all my stuff. I even moved a bunch of stuff (probably 10 cu ft or more) after the initial estimate and I moved into storage.I asked for an explanation of the almost double hours and was given none but rather accused of disrespecting the movers. The movers were fine. It was the estimate for both the number of hours and the size of the move that was incorrect.I paid the bill even after not receiving any explanation for the very low estimate but tried to find another mover to move from storage to my final home. The company refuses to let me use another mover or even provide access to my stuff.Business Response

Thank you for addressing your concerns, and we are here to resolve that for you. We did discuss one day of moving work, but that was not assumed as an 8 hours of supposedly regular office day work. It was confirmed that we could get all the items moved out from the house within one full day of working, not two days, as sometime happens in moving process. We did do what we promised and got everything moved out in one day, but surely the entire move took more than 8 hours with drive time, padding and wrapping of the items, loading and unloading. 26 foot box truck that we provided holds approximately ***** to ***** cubic feet, also largest that could possibly fit in a mountain home with narrow, twisted driveway, and with large mountains stones on the side of the upwards going driveway. The 10 cubic feet mentioned moved on your own was artwork pictures that you wanted to move on your own anyway, and we certainly respect it. We are now working with you to ensure and comply with regulations and safety to provide another smooth and efficient handling and transportation of all the items. We appreciate you choosing us for your move and being our very much valuable clientInitial Complaint

This move was completed over a year ago, in 2022. For clarification, no belongings were held hostage at any time. The move itself took a few days due to lack of proper preparation by the client, and there was never an issue at that time. The client always had access to their clothing as well as every other item all throughout the move. None of the items were missing or damaged during the move and/or by the completion of the move, and all of the items were handled and delivered safely and securely, with the utmost care, and we still have all the proof needed of that. The situation here is that the client wants an even more discounted price, after it was already provided, and coming up with more different reasons to get more funds backCustomer Answer

There was absolutely nothing stolen or misplaced. All proof still there. Now, this does not match your first asking amount. We apologize that our offer that exceeded the claim amount does not satisfy youCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
We are responding to the message from the Business.
We are going sentence by sentence.
Business claims that there was absolutely nothing stolen or misplaced.
Consumers answer: Where is our Cuckoo Clock and the package of silk ties?
Business wrote: All proof still there.
Consumers answer: What do you mean by All proof still there?
Then you wrote: Our offer that exceeded the claim amount
Consumers answer: how can your offer of only $670.00 exceed the claim amount of $2,400 ($1,400 *********** $550 Cuckoo Clock; $450 package of silk manties)? Does a nonsense saying have a special purpose?
About the Bose acoustic wave music Radio with CD player:
This instrument is no longer made by the company. It is totally out of order, meaning that it is not possible to produce any sound from it. The pedestal (base) was broken in two places. We had to glue back the pieces so that it could be carried to the storage place. We still have it as proof.
The following scenario raises a lot of questions about the way the Business had in mind when we called to let Business be aware that this instrument was still missing on 01-03-2023 when the majority of our belongings was finally delivered. Four days later, we got a call from Cat, the Tangent Apartments receptionist telling us that ***********************, the owner of Spyder Moving and Storage Company, had left a big radio for us. Here are our questions and comments on this matter:
Why Business didnt bring the radio to us who live upstairs, instead of asking a receptionist to call us and inform us on his behalf? The answer was quite clear: because it was not only broken but also totally useless. If Business brought it to us, he was afraid to be told that he would have either to pay the price for a new one or had to have it repaired. In our opinion based on our personal experience with other preceding moving companies, compensation for damaged items during the moving process was standard in the moving business across the country.
We have written proof of lies (multiple) from Business that would take at least two pages to list them. If you ever want to see them, we would be more than happy to send them to you.
Addendum:
*************************** treated us, his customers, with maleficence on several occasions. We just mention here a couple of examples to show you his behavior.
He claimed that the moving done by him alone without associates has been smooth, damage-free and clean.
Consumer s answer: So, what has happened with our missing Cuckoo Clock and our missing package of almost 7 new silk men ties; and what has happened to our acoustic wave ********** that was completely useless (No sound and two broken sides on the pedestal (base).
This is to show you that ****************** was intentionally Senior Abusive: per contract, our one-bedroom belongings were supposed to be moved to the new location on one single day, the 29th of Dec. 2022. Because we had anticipated that the moving process was supposed to be completed on the 29th, which was a warmer day, we dressed lightly to do the moving chores. Recognizing that we needed much warmer clothes on the next few days, Mr ******* applied his tactic of hostage-holding. As a matter of fact, he decided on the second day, Dec 30th, 2022, NOT to deliver our belongings which he kept in his ********************************* on the street until Jan 3rd, 2023. In the meantime, this couple of seniors (**** is 94 years old and *****, 81 years old) had no warm clothing to wear against the cold days of the 30th, 31st of Dec and the 1st and the 2nd of Jan 2023.
We just want to mention to you only these two instances as examples which represent the tip of an iceberg of Mr. ******** malfeasance.
May we remind you that ****************** used the tactic of not responding for months as a way to claim that the issue has been over a year and therefore, not valid for customer to question.
What does it mean when ****************** recently made an offer of $670.00 as compensation?
Thank you for taking time to assist us.

Sincerely,

We do not have to prove anything to you. Obviously this not about any problems you might have but rather you take much joy in this as your pastime. This is now become pointless to respond to your absurd statements, full of misinformation and lies. You rejected our offers on multiple occasions, including the one you initially asked for. We appreciate you taking the time to resolve this, but unfortunately, we could not find any agreement with you. All best to you in your future endeavors
