    I recently had an appointment with Dr. ***** office for a cleaning. I had been a patient for about 2 years. The hygienist was not the person Id previously had. This was my third hygienist in 3 visits.I told her about a serious complication Id previously that lasted a few months. Then she began the procedure and I winced. She put the instrument down and went to talk to the doctor. I assumed the doctor was going to come in to look at my gums. Instead, the hygienist returned and told me that the doctor said I had to leave. There was no explanation by the doctor or from the doctor as to why they could no longer treat me. I asked if the doctor was going to come in and check my teeth. She said, No, I checked your teeth. I responded, Youre not a doctor. I was kind in my response but I left upset and very confused.A few days later, I wrote a very nice letter to the doctor explaining I was confused as to her response. Also, I suggested that if my gums were such a problem, I could return and repeat the procedure in a manner they had previously employed. We personally delivered this letter to the office manager.They responded with a certified letter stating it had been a pleasure to treat me but that I needed to find another periodontist. This irrational, irresponsible, uncaring dismissal of me is indicative of the type of care Altura and *********** provide. Even more, was the certified letter I received reinforcing my experience. Alturas ******** site claims that they treat patients with compassion, respect and excellence. This has not been my experience!One other point I should mention is the staff turnover I have seen at every visit - both with the hygienists and the front desk staff, including managers. It is very revealing and indicative of a disposable patient and staff culture and work environment. I do not recommend Dr. **** or Altura. Beware of the service or lack thereof that they provide..
