Title: Deliberate Engine Block Damage and Fabricated Mercedes Dealer Statement Review:I brought a fully cleaned and disassembled OM642 engine block (from a 2010 Mercedes GL 350) to Western Engine Supply for cylinder boring, along with a brand-new set of high-quality NPR pistons.I clearly instructed them both verbally and via a translator to measure the pistons first and bore the cylinders to +0.06 to +0.07 mm over piston size, which is the standard clearance for a turbo diesel engine. Instead, they overbored the block to +0.15 mm, more than double the allowed tolerance completely destroying the block. When I confronted them about the excessive bore size, they handed me a printed document that they claimed was from an official ************* dealer, stating that acceptable piston-to-wall clearances were between ***** mm and ***** mm.These figures are completely false and apply only to large industrial diesel engines not to passenger vehicles. I personally contacted the official ************* dealer, who categorically denied issuing such data and confirmed that these clearances are 2 to 3 times higher than factory-acceptable limits for the OM642 engine. They explicitly stated they never gave any such specification to any engine ******* make matters worse, Western Engine Supply refused to return my engine block and pistons unless I paid in full for their incorrect work essentially holding my property ************** of the block damage, piston measurements, and documentation are available here: [************************************************************************ Their conduct was negligent, dishonest, and borderline fraudulent. I strongly advise anyone considering this shop to stay away.

Western Engine Supply got a Mercedes v6 turbo diesel block in from Boqdan **** not Evangi Kuvaev on 5/7/2025 to go .5mm oversize which is 83.5mm not 83mm as Evgeni states. When measuring the piston to 83.5mm if we finished the block at that spec we would only have .013mm clearance which is ****** (too tight). Western looked the specs up on Automotive Engine ********************** web site who gets their information from Alldata who gets their information from the manufacturer and the clearance spec was .005-.0055(.12mm) which seemed loose for a 83.5mm bore but the engine is a turbo diesel which requires more clearances. Western Engine called Boqdan and explained the piston size to final bore size and the specs that **** showed and asked if he had a different clearance spec per the piston mfg, Boqdan was going to investigate the spec and get back to Western. Western had to call Boqdan 2 more times again to follow up on a clearance spec and he informed Western that he didnt have a clearance spec and for Western to finish the cylinders per **** specs and if the ring end gap was too big he would get a different set of rings to tighten up ring end gap. Boqdan had many opportunities to provide any spec that he wanted clearances set to. Western finished the block and called Boqdan for 2 week to come and pickup the block. Finally 1 month after the block was brought into Western on 6/10/2025 Evgeni came to pick up the block and claimed that Boqdan no longer works at the business and that he (Evgeni) wanted .7mm piston to cylinder wall clearance. Western explained the conversations with Boqdan and the specs that were agreed upon. Boqdan **** was the name on the repair order and his phone number was the contact phone number.
Western Engine supply questioned the piston size with Boqdan initially. Western made several calls to Boqdan to see if the piston mfg had a different spec but provided nothing and told to have Western finish the block at the **** spec. Evgeni claims to have built 1 of these engines previously and did not like the clearances that the block has. If Evgeni wanted a specific piston clearance he had many opportunities to tell Boqdan or Western and it would have been finished to his specification. If Evgeni is mad at someone it should be Boqdan for not doing his job and not at Western Engine Supply.

It really doesnt matter who said what or when exactly I picked up the engine block from you thats entirely irrelevant. What does matter is that I handed you an untouched, unbored cylinder block with a factory bore of 83 millimeters. Along with that, I provided top-tier pistons from *** Europe industry leaders along with matching rings from the same premium set. These parts are on par with OEM quality, if not better. And yet, despite having everything you needed for a textbook job, you managed to bore the cylinders incorrectly. You were supposed to machine them to match a piston-to-wall clearance of 0.06 to 0.07 millimeters as any competent specialist would ********, your "document" with those imaginary clearance numbers? Its laughably easy to refute. In fact, Ill gladly pay for official access to the very same database you claim your specs came from and Ill print it out for you, straight from the source. That way, well have direct evidence showing whos fabricating what and who's trying to shift blame where it doesnt belong. The clearance values youve invented dont exist in any official documentation certainly not from ********, and not anywhere online either. And just for the record, Im a certified engine repair specialist with a university degree in the field. I write technical specs I dont need them explained to me. You, on the other hand, might want to consider upgrading your technical knowledge before trying to pass off fiction as professional data.Because if you truly believe those clearances are correct, then weve moved well past a simple mistake were into the realm of creative *********** also claimed that the piston was oversized that it wasnt standard. According to you, even though the box clearly states 83.5 mm, the actual piston size was 0.20 mm larger than that. Which would mean, by your logic, that the piston is ***** mm. So... which story are you going with?Is it the first version where you bored the cylinders with an intentionally large clearance of 0.14 mm? Or is it the second version where you aimed for a smaller 0.07 mm clearance, but ended up with a much larger bore because you claim the piston itself is oversized? You cant have it both ways. Its one or the other. And frankly, the way your story keeps changing is more confusing than convincing. You twist things around so much, you end up contradicting yourself and still expect everyone else to nod in ************, exposing this whole thing is actually quite easy thanks to the very same engine repair association you claim you got your specs from. I can print out the official specifications for my engine from that exact source and show you, point by point, that your numbers dont match up. Not even close. The clearances you wrote down or, lets be honest, made up dont exist. Not just for this engine, but for any engine on planet Earth. Nowhere in any technical documentation, from any manufacturer, will you find such absurd values. And yet somehow, only you seem to think theyre correct. Everyone else is wrong, and youre the lone genius who figured it out?Thats a bold claim. But one thats very easy to disprove and I fully intend to do just that, very soon.I can also very easily provide photos straight from an official ******** dealer, clearly showing the correct piston-to-cylinder wall clearance for this engine. And yes I can attach those photos right ******** thats something Im genuinely curious to see: how youll respond to that. How exactly are you going to talk your way out of it once real, documented proof is staring you in the face? And just to be clear the piston I brought you perfectly matches the specifications. Ive fully proven this, and its clearly visible in the photos. The actual size of the oversize piston is ***** mm which, by the way, is 0.02 mm smaller than the nominal ***** mm you claimed to be dealing with.Yet despite this, you kept insisting that the piston was oversized and didnt match any known specifications, and that you had to bore the cylinders larger because of ***** heres my conclusion: you damaged the cylinder bores during machining, and then came up with this alternative spec story to cover it up. You invented your own oversized clearance values simply to avoid responsibility.
