    Originally found Golden Spike Roofing via recommendations on ************************* KOA 850 radio.First job Golden Spike completed for us, deck ***** roof addition roofing. Superb! Very happy. 10! Second job was severe hailstorm in mid 2023. **** and a colleague came out in a very difficult situation and did temporary repairs on a barn roof. Again super happy - a major effort on the temp repairs. 10!Final part of the second job was entire home roof replacement. Complete fiasco - poor attention to detail - poor workmanship and total chaos. I have high expectations and can be PITA. However, these expectations were made clear at the on-set. Near complete failure with Golden Spike Roofing. It gets worse. The replaced chimney cap blows open with complete exposure to weather. Approximately a 6" opening for rain, etc. to enter B pipe to fireplace. Call **** and Spike @ Golden Spike, and basically, "Sure we can schedule a repair in 2 weeks or so". Absolutely zero concern for exposure and clearly the goal was for our warranty request to just GO AWAY. At this point call new / different roofer - out same day on chimney cap due to emergency need for fix. New roofer did complete roof inspection and we are out $2300.00 for fixes/repairs to our roof install from GS. Fixes per ************************ furnace vent on top of chimney cap *Remove shingles in valley along sidewall and install new *********** shield along valley *Reinstall shingles feathered into valley and properly install step flashing along sidewall/ dormer *Remove & *********** top side of turtle attic vents. Reinstall vents with proper shingle coverage and exposure *Remove shingles behind chimney. Install new shingles with proper cricket and lap to help mitigate waterflow ***************** shingles around solar attic vent. Install *********** shield to ensure roof longevity *Remove & replace ridge with correct ******************** ridge cap (Incorrect install)I do not recommend GS Roofing. Started great. Failed

    Be cautious of GOLDEN SPIKE ROOFING...I gave ****, the rep, the scope of work that was addressed by the insurance adjuster and redacted all the financials of what insurance paid me. He loosely quoted me for a roof replacement due to tornado (I have it in writing) and the price seemed reasonable but when it came time to formalize the quote the sales rep **** told me he spoke to owner ************************* who stated "if he won't share the insurance adjusters numbers (how much they allocated me) then "he's not OUR KIND OF PEOPLE"... needless to say I moved on. These guys are working for THEIR best interest, not yours. It would be like going to the grocery store and checking out with a loaf of bread and asking "how much?" and the clerk replying "how much money did your Mom give you for the bread?" If she gave you more than you needed then guess what they'd charge you?? I'd love to know what an end user would pay for a product I sold before I priced it out, but that's not real world. Be careful out there. BTW, if anyone wants to see the text and email exchange I'd be happy to share it.

    They refused to help when asked for help training. They sold out a contract I had worked for to another employee. I did the work and they refused to pay me. I have filed a complaint with the labor board and submitted a demand letter for payment. I will *** if they continue to pay me.
