      I wouldnt score this company with any stars if I had that option! Since Sparebox took over the storage facitlity I store at they have been one of the greediest, unduly self entitled excuse for a conglomerate I have ever seen!! They have done nothing but put a price tag on each head of the storage renters and continuously hike the fees and prices as soon as the seasons change!! No on-site personnel, very seldom can you reach a representative by phone and if by chance you do they dont treat you like a paying customer, the attitude they give is unprofessional!! The CEO of this company should be ashamed of herself, I dont know how she sleeps at night robbing people in this day and age with the economy the way it is!!

      As this place is owned by private equity, they have no moral compass or appreciation for their customer base. I started my lease at the ********, ******** location on January 2023, and from then on there were consistent lease increases for no reason at all. They still advertised the same unit on their website for a far lower amount, and refused to adjust when contacted. I switched units, because it was more cost effective. They did not transfer my insurance, and charged me for their own. They backdated it for the previous month (which is insurance fraud) in addition to the present month. A call was made and I was assured it was fixed, instead they debited my account the full amount. Called again and was told I would be refunded, but received a text message shortly after that they could only credit my account. Then 9 days later I received a notice they were terminating my lease, without proof, with violations that happened prior to the monthly payment. I received a violation for "loitering" because apparently actually going to the storage unit you pay for is not allowed. I was given 2 days to vacate, or they threatened criminal action in addition to keeping my property inside the unit. I was tasked with finding and paying for new storage unit in a very short period of time, in addition to finding assistance moving since I am disabled and without resources. In summary, they violated their own lease by overcharging me the agreed amount, committed fraud by backdating insurance, then conveniently terminated my lease within days after my monthly lease payment. In addition to all that, the units they lease are absolutely filthy inside. The walls and floors are often caked with dirt and bugs. I found a dead mouse inside of my unit, and not surprisingly they include rodent bait inside every unit free of charge. If you live in an area where it snows, they will do absolutely nothing about snow removal. Stay away from Sparebox.

      I have never been a part of a bigger scam than this company. The rate changes are just incredibly astronomical once you sign up and move in. No reasoning and explanation. No physical person at the site to speak to, only a kiosk. 800 call center just say things like tough luck and move out then if questioned. RUN far away from this company!

      I have had all my units sold w out my knowledge. I had my units on automatic w drawal. I just called today to hear that my units were sold for non payment. They stated they called me which I didn't receive. I have 1 unit left which I called to make sure everything was fine to be told up for auction cause the bank sent it back for insufficient funds. To be told that unit is up for auction now. Fee is $1045.00 I cant call corporate to resolve this. The person keeps saying sorry for inconvenience. Really my decease parents and my decease sons stuff gone. I'm devastated. They rip you off. If you are late 2 days a charge of $350 every 2 days is charged. I would never refer them.

      I am beginning to have problems with them. Not only was my storage broken into...they have not done anything to resolve it or help...now there is no one to talk to at site...when the place was changed to SpareBox it all went down hill. Storage fees keep going up and now i cant even get into my storage and dont even know why...i called and all they said was they will contact me.

      ************NO STARS*******After missing one month's payment (because of no auto pay) I received a late fee. When I called to inquire about this, in ***** I suppose, they at first told me that nothing could be done differently and that there was no supervisor available. They mentioned nothing more than for me to call a certain number to waive the fee. 3 days later I received an "invoice" stating that I did miss that months payment BUT $5 a week late fee each week and then the next months rent was due by that time as well as a lien fee. For a $109 unit just over one month they are wanting me to pay almost $400!!!!! If I could have afforded rent to a new place with short notice how do they think ANYBODY can afford that. B*******t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You **** *****!

      I am being scammed by this new company and I hear others are too. My unit I have had over 10 years is locked down with them telling me I am behind a payment. I have proof that my bank has mailed them a check every month but I cant get the SpareBox to give me a fax number so I can send them copies of the checks. The checks are bank generated so I dont have check numbers. SpareBox has been charging me $9 a month extra for insurance which I never agreed to as my home owners insurance covers my contents. When u call the company u talk to someone in ******* and they are hard to understand.

      ZERO STARS. Sparebox is a terrible company. I recommend you find different storage. 1.) They removed my military discount when they bought out my local storage. 2.) My rate doubled in 2 years, from $35 to $70 and charged me insurance which I declined because I have my own but they continued to charge me anyway. They did it because they could, because I live half the country away. 3.) Once I was able to take a week off from work to drive 17 hours to move my things out of the storage, I discover that THE **** HAD BEEN MOVED and my unit was no longer secured by anything more than my own lock. The customer service is sh*tty. Do not rent from this place.
