    I hired Mr. ********************** towards the end of 2020 to do my 2021 taxes. I supplied him with ALL of the necessary information and forms that he would need at that time and met with him several times to go over things. When I received the tax forms from my banks, I also gave those to him way in advance of the tax due date.My taxes are simple and straight forward and could and should have been done in a timely manner so as to be submitted in advance of the due date. Once tax season started I could not get ahold of him. When he did finally respond he would say he's not returning emails or calls as he has 400 returns to do and he's up at 5am and goes to bed at midnight.I needed to know whether he was filing my return the week prior to April 18th. He would not respond. Finally he returned my call and said he was filing an extension. There was no need as it should have been done but fine, I confirmed that in an email to him, which, of course, he didn't respond to. I asked if I owed anything and his response was, "probably not since you paid quarterly taxes". This was April 15th (Friday). That didn't seem like an appropriate response if he had done the taxes...but I was stuck at that point.Not only did ********************** lie about filing an extension which he should not have filed anyway and should have done the tax return in a timely manner, as he had all the necessary documents and papers months in advance, that now I have received both from the State and Federal penalty fees due to ********************** NOT FILING ANYTHING! He totally lied about filing! The fee from Federal is $448.23 and from State $56!He has started calling me names ("psycho") and wrote a nasty, vile review on Yelp, which they removed due to his language and name calling!I should not have to pay these fees as this was TOTALLY his fault! In 42 years I've never filed an extension or paid taxes late or had any penalties. In fact, I usually pay early way before the due date!
