The owner of JC Towing company, *****************************, within 10 minutes of parking a vehicle at the ********* on Colfax Ave. started hooking up his truck to tow my daughter's car. She was getting a friend before they were going to eat. There was another man with a ski mask who told her it "was too late" when she returned to her car. The tow truck driver, ********************, would not speak to her or explain the situation and clearly did not follow the HB1314 Towing Bill of Rights. Once at the yard where he towed the vehicle, he and his partner, ******************, would not release the vehicle without a payment of $305. They both used intimidation tactics including holding the registration, requesting a driver's license, not talking to her (a) at all when with her male friend only alone & (b) why the vehicle was towed (which was parked legally in the lot to start). He would not tell her his name and closed the gate to the lot. He did not have a business card or ID and still wouldn't identify himself. From the beginning, she respectfully requested a reason, asked it to be released, they did not take pictures to prove no damage was done, etc. She finally paid via card after the men's posturing, intimidation, threatening **************** still wouldn't release the vehicle and continued to hold her registration. Once she told them she was calling the police, they said they were waiting for the payment to go through and could only release the vehicle to the owner on the registration. When I arrived, they said the car was released, that they got their payment, again wouldn't say why it was towed, and didn't have photos of the car prior to towing. They did not provide an invoice or talk to me about the towing that happened as the registered owner of the car. I was finally able to speak to his partner in the yard who said he wanted to get out of the business, b/c he was told what to do by ****** and had to do it(collect payment & hold vehicles).

November 16th I got towed from ********* on ******. The tow truck was on sight and not helpful in providing information on how to retrieve my car. I found out the person I talked to actually owns the company with his brother and could have given me the number. I got to the lot on time and called to give notice of my arrival. I had to wait 30 minutes in a literal junkyard because they were not on time. The same person I initially had contact with eventually showed up with two young kids in the car. I paid cash (as they required) and was able to get my car. The reason I am filing this complaint now is because JC towing has called me multiple times in the middle of the night since then. This behavior is obscene and I cant possible imagine what they could need from me at 12:13 am! The number is now blocked. If they try to contact me again I will contact the police for harassment.

07/03/2023: Sloans Lake Area, near ************* I parked in a spot with no signage in front of it to grab coffee, at 9am. No line, out in 2 mins. Tow truck was waiting when I came back but had not hooked up to my car in any way. He refused to move his truck, and said its $80 to move. When i asked to go to ATM - they refused and would not accept other payment methods. It took another great citizen to stand up for me and talk the guy into taking all the money I had in my wallet, and the citizen helped pay the remainder. I called the police and they informed me that the drop charge is $15. JC Towing is extorting ****** citizens for parking in unsigned areas, and charging cash payments above the limit. This is despicable behavior and this company and driver should be reprimanded.

I was doing Door Dash and as soon as parked to drop someone's food off. The towed my car. The guy said he would take $ 80 dollars then he took the car anyway. He said he couldn't wait for the money. Then he told me it will be $380 to pick up the car
