I'm writing this notice to have on the record for other customers to read and learn how this organization does business. It is incredible they are allowed to stay in business. I do not want the company to contact me. I'm done. This company offers a great price to trim or remove a tree, if you are able to get the workers to the house, they do a good job. The HUGE problem is getting the people to do the work once a contract has been signed and they have 60 days to do the work.A contract was signed, in my example on Aug 31, 2022 between Rushton Tree Services and my senior father. I sent the contract via email to the company and I called the next day to ensure they had received the signed contract. I was told the work would be scheduled 24 hours in advance and I would receive a phone call. On Sept 20th, I called the company and received the same statement. On Oct 10th, I called and received the same message. At that time, I stated I would call back in 2 weeks and if the job could not be done, it would be cancelled. On Oct 20th I called, received a recording and left a message. As of Oct 30, the 60 days are over and the work was never done. Never once did this company call or email about the status of the contract. Now the leaves are almost all gone on the tree and we cannot call another company to have the tree trimmed without the trimmers missing some of the dead limbs. This is a nightmare company with which to do business. They should not be allowed to treat their customers they way they do. If there is a signed contract which states the estimates are good for 60 days, then they need to do the work. By law, both parties who signed the contract are committed one to do the work and the other to pay for the work within the timeframe of the contract. How does Rushton Tree Service get away with not communicating with customers or abiding to time in the contract. There is NO WAY the rating for this company should be a A+, it should be an F-.

      Business Response

Rushton has been in business for over 30 years, we first provide an estimate that is requested by the costumer. The estimate is only good for ********************************************** approved by the costumer this becomes a contract between Rushton and the costumer. from that time, it is added to the trimming queue. We advise our customers of the next step; we also advise them of an approximate time that they will be in the queue before we go out there to do the job. Due to weather and special circumstances we have no control over we do our schedule daily and advise the costumer 24 hours in advance before we go out to their property to do the tree work.  in this specific circumstance nothing was done improperly or differently. We are a very busy company that appreciates everyone's business, and everyone is treated equally. We get to all of our customers as soon as possible and within the time frame provided.

I am rejecting this response because:

I don't agree with your response; however, I do not want another response from the company.  My business dealings with this company are over.

There was no estimated time frame given other than the job will be put into the que.  In writing on the contract it states the estimate is good for 60 days and no where on the contract does it state Rushton Tree Service has an open ended time to do the work.  If they are super busy, then they need to stop giving estimates and get the work they have signed up to do via a contract completed.  They cannot treat their customers the way they do, no business in ****** has opened ended contracts with no estimated time frame in which the job is to be completed.  That is ridiculous.

A Rushton rep called on 11/7/2022 to schedule the work on 11/8/2022.  Even though we have not had the work done, I told them not to come.  I also told them I had filed a complaint with the BBB because they were past their 60 days.  Also, now there were hardly any leaves on the tree and they would not be able to tell which limbs to cut down.  They waited too long past the 60 days.

How this company has stayed in business with an A+ BBB rating is beyond me.

      Sincerely,
