I reached out to Southwest Water and *** ********* for their proprietary gutter system to be installed on our home. Part of the job required an electrician assessment. After the assessment I was told by the electrician I would need 2 new breaks, approximately $200 each, plus at least a half day for labor. I was quoted $900 and was told that price was for materials (parts), labor and taxes. That seemed reasonable for half a days work. The actual labor took 30-45 min, however I was still charged $900. I reached out to the owner, *** ****** to ask why they were charging me almost $500 in labor for 30-40 min of work. Bob sent a very nasty text message, followed by a phone call where he yelled at me and told me $900 is their minimum, and that they don't take jobs for less than that. I explained to him that no where in the contract does it state that, and no one affiliated with his company ever said to me, $900 is the min no matter how long the job takes. I think this is unacceptable, it's not transparent, and it's very much taking advantage of his customers. Some customers may not care about money, but I do. He was extremely unreasonable, and hung up on me after getting very heated. He told me pay whatever the hell you want, this isn't worth my time, or something to that effect. I want to make this right, I want for the service and job that was done, but being overcharged this much is just not ok. I want the business to make sure their customers know what they're paying for and I expect them to adjust the billing amount based on the actual labor that was done

      Hi ******

Thank you for your willingness to discuss your recent project. I understand you are pleased with the SWIS team and project outcome except the final contracted price of electrical work.

I’m pleased we reached a settlement agreement last Friday, where you confirmed your payment of $200 for labor and $400 for materials, totaling $600 for the $900 contracted project. The invoice reflecting this agreement has been sent and settled.

During our call, we talked about our detailed contract, which outlines the scope of work for each project. We are committed to upholding the contracted price, even when unexpected issues arise that require additional resources. Our clients appreciate this level of certainty, as it is essential to our service.

I also wanted to highlight that focusing solely on installation labor and materials overlooks the broader costs associated with running a sustainable business. For instance, when you visit ********** focusing only on the cost of coffee beans, cup, and labor to make your cup of Joe ignores the many costs that contribute to the overall experience.

We are dedicated to being a sustainable local business for the long term, ensuring we’re here for our clients when they need us. Thank you for your understanding, and we genuinely appreciate your business.

      Wishing you all the best,
