      Extremely unprofessional. First, I was woken up at 8:04 and 7:04 in the morning over two days on the weekend by text messages from them. My phone is on 24/7 because of elderly parents. Secondly, I set up the test weeks in advance because it involved fasting and I wanted the first appointment in the morning I got there on time for my 7:45 appointment and after waiting 45 minutes to be taken in for the test, I finally asked how much longer it will be. That's when I found out that they had no tech for the test. Now I have to wait another week and a half to take the test and hope that there is a tech on the site that day. People take medical tests for a reason and not everyone fasts easily, today's experience showed me that this place as no regard for people's well being both emotionally or physically.

      My husband required an MRI for a torn Achilles, and his orthopedist referred us to Touchstone. Despite the referral, we were only able to secure an appointment a week later. Our insurance authorized the visit, and Touchstone is listed as an in-network provider. However, we were never informed beforehand that payment would be required upfront by Touchstone. Our insurance plan explicitly states that payment should not be collected at the time of service. We have a Medical Reimbursement Account and *********** Spending Account, which could cover any out-of-pocket expenses. We have sufficient funds available for this purpose. During the check-in process for the appointment we had been eagerly waiting for, we were informed that the cost would be $265. I showed the receptionist the section on our insurance card that clearly stated 'Do not collect $ at time of service,' but the receptionist insisted on the upfront payment, citing company policy. I requested to speak with the person responsible for insurance authorizations, but was informed that they were currently without a manager. In the end, due to our financial privilege, we were able to pay out of pocket and deal with the issue later because my husband urgently needed the **** However, the lack of transparency in this matter could have had severe consequences for someone in a different financial situation. It feels manipulative and exploitative to take advantage of a person's health emergency and force them to pay because they need the service. If Touchstone had informed us upfront that they would not honor *****'s request to waive payment at the time of service, we would have sought out another imaging center that follows our insurance plan's guidelines. This practice is predatory, and it is concerning that the majority of people may not realize that it is unacceptable.
