    We hired JAServices via NextDoor. We needed sod installed in our yard to cover dirt patches from emergency sewer line work that was done the previous summer. She agreed to do the sod work, reset the patio tiles that had been moved as part of the sewer fix, add some new flower beds and haul away old yard refuse. It was understood that work needed to be done quickly since we wanted to host our son's first birthday party two weeks from the date of agreement. We signed a contract on 6/2/24 for a total of $2300 and she promised to come back the next day to start the work, which would take 1-2 days. She came the following day and did a portion of the sod and patio work, but nothing on the flower beds or refuse haul away. She also failed to install 2 triangular pieces of sod on either side of a walkway and cut an access hole in the patio tiles so that we could access the sewer clean outs in the future. She also suggested that we add some new elements to the flower beds, such as mulch and edging, and convinced us to pay her for the remainder of the work, now totalling $2900.They didn't show up the next day, or ever again, to complete the work. We texted and called daily and got a series of excuses involving her father being in the hospital, which may or may not have been true. She made no effort to contact us, only responding if we reached out repeatedly. Apart from completing the work, we asked for guidance on how to water the sod, including how to restart our sprinklers since they had buried the heads and didn't cut holes for them.Since the work was never completed, we had to change our plans and host our son's birthday party at a restaurant rather than our backyard. This entailed considerable cost and inconvenience. After all of this occurred I repeatedly texted her to get a refund for part of the work but she not only refused but said that it was our fault for not continuing to badger her. She refused to consider a refund or complete the work. She is predatory.

    Found her on nextdoor hired her because she said she was licensed and insured. Had her come by to do an estimate on a Friday. She said she could start the work on Monday. She was a no show. I followed up with her that day she said she would come by Thursday. She called just to verify my request I was very clear from the edge of the fence to the sidewalk I walked the grass/plants removed. She said she understood. About an hour later she said she couldnt start the work because it was too hot outside (it was raining all day) but would come by Friday bright and early she didnt show up but called and said she was coming Saturday. Against my better judgment I reconnected with her and told her to come by Tuesday. During the project she had the plants being removed in my neighbors yard and was using their hose to clean off and drink from their hose. After she left she didnt clean up there was dirt everywhere. My neighbors came by later that day to complain about someone I contracted using their house for anything not authorized. I politely sent a text to ******* explaining how I wouldnt be finishing the project with her cause she didnt respect my or my neighbors home. She began blowing up my phone text after text call after call. Threatening she was going to dump a tree ***** in my yard if I didnt pay her. Wanting almost the full amount when the project was in fact not even close to being complete. I had no issue with her hence why I kept reaching out to get the work done and was even excited to work with her since she seemed to understand what exactly I was trying to do. However, the threats from her, the demands for nearly a full payment with the work nowhere near complete and the complaint from my neighbor just made working with her a bad experience.

    Date of transaction is Sep 3 2022. I paid Jaservices $8500.00 in total. $3500.00 for Tree of Heaven removal, $1500 for removal of other smaller Tree of of Heaven roots, $2000.00 fence repair and $1500.00 for replacement of four windows. The tree was cut down to about four feet above ground and only about three of the seven or so other roots were removed. The damaged fencing was removed but never replaced. The windows were delivered but were damaged and after inspection from another contractor deemed the incorrect size. Jaservices failed to show up for work on a regular basis. She would disappear for a few days and return only to spend a short time and disappear again. Each time she left her tools behind in an unsecured area, She then accused me of stealing her tools. This is untrue. She began digging fence posts but never finished the job. She will not return phone calls, texts or emails. I am requesting a refund of $3800.00in total. She did cut down the tree but I had to hire a ***** grinder to finished the job at the cost of $550.00. She did remove a few roots. I am requesting $750.00 refund. She did remove damaged fencing, I am requesting a refund of $1500.00. She was to replace the damaged fencing we well but did not. She did deliver windows that were inadequate. She did remove the old damaged windows. I am requesting a refund of $1000.00 totalling $3800.00 I think this is a generous resolution. Sadly, I only have signed contracts in the amount of $5,000.00.roots.
