    Dont rent at *****************************, the landlord will not fix anything and this property management is impossible to get a response from. Our cooling has been down since last Sunday (now 6 days later) with no timeline on when it will be fixed. Its getting up to 90 degrees inside and the technician who came to look at the cooler said it is not up to code and hasn't been the whole time we have lived here because the cooler intake is right next to the carbon monoxide and waste pipes so even when the cooler was working it was pumping in unsafe air into this home. Also it's so old the landlord will need to replace the whole thing and change where the pipes are to make it up to code. Nothing is scheduled to be fixed yet nor have we heard any timeline to get it fixed nor did they offer to provide alternative cooling until I looked up tenant rights and forced their hands. The landlord doesn't care about you only for you to pay his mortgage

    Were sorry to hear about your discomfort during the recent extreme temperatures. While heat is a warranty of habitability issue, air conditioning or cooling is not, and repairs for cooling systems are not subject to the same urgent timelines. We understand this is very uncomfortable, and were working diligently to resolve the issue. As youre aware, the problem is complex, requiring multiple bids, significant expense, and time to determine the best solution.
    Your home, built in 1958, does not meet current building codes in some areas, which is typical for older properties and not a landlords obligation to update annually as codes change. In the meantime, the landlord has provided a credit toward a portable A/C unit to help ease the situation. Were focused on restoring the swamp cooler as soon as possible and will keep you updated on progress.
    For immediate relief, we suggest opening windows and doors at night and keeping them closed with blinds drawn during the day. Additionally, the city offers cooling centers for residents, as many homes in the area lack cooling systems. Thank you for your patience, and well be in touch soon.
