I purchased a vehicle from Car-Mart Automotive in June of 2023. Them in there were slightly aggressive and answering about vehicle damage. But was adamant that it was minor damage from towing. I was denied loan refinancing because of salvage title, which I was unaware of. This is how I discovered the vehicle is a salvage vehicle. The dealership did not disclose this information. They did not give me salvage vehicle paperwork. When I asked about the title they said I would not receive it because I was financing the vehicle and it would be sent to the dmv. ***** only given a Bill of Sale. So I never got to see an actual title. I would have never purchased this, especially at full price knowing it was a salvage vehicle. They stated minor damaged had been done. Not that is was a rebuild. After speaking with a mechanic he stated a stamp of rebuild was painted over in an attempt to hide it in door jam.

After educating myself on Salvage titles. The Car automotive LLC, led me to believe I was signing title paperwork stating minor damage and I would receive my title at the *** because I financed the Suv. Secondly there should be a very clear stamp reading salvage vehicle on the car, they painted over it(pictures inclosed). The value of a salvage vehicle should be half of what it is worth. By the time I'm done paying for the vehicle I will be paying three times that amount. I cannot refinance my loan because it is a salvage vehicle. I would like to be refunded the difference since I was scammed into buying a salvage vehicle for more than full price!

    Hello *******,

Per our conversation on the phone, the **** of ****************** Services still have the recording when you did the customer verification interview, they have you on recording saying yes Im aware of the rebuilt title when they asked you are you aware this vehicle is rebuilt/branded title and have you signed the branded title disclosure?. You are clearly aware of the title situation of the car.

Per our conversation two weeks ago, we sent you copies of the papers you signed, like branded title disclosure, material particulars disclosure (see attached) and the carfax. You signed that the vehicle had frame damage, you signed the vehicle has salvage title on two forms, two not just one, and you signed the carfax.

The Salvage stamp, its clearly visible and readable and we never painted the stamp (maybe you did, who knows?), the white stamps still visible on the paint which means we didn't paint anything, and you can come check every car we have as branded title, it will clears say rebuilt from salvage on all the cars that should be stamped. We are doing our business according to the law and we are very transparent about all our cars, thats why we put the carfax report on our website and we provide very detailed description on all the cars.

You and your father are aware of the rebuilt title, and I said it to both of you. Hence, we had you sign the paperwork that will protect us from your false accusations.

Unfortunately, we cannot please everyone, and we have very good reputation and we never sold a car with the intention of scamming any person, whoever reached to us with a reasonable dissatisfaction, we took care of them already.

Therefore, we will not issue any refund.

Thanks for your dishonest claim/accusations, *******.

Attached is the carfax report where it clearly says the value of the vehicle. You don't need to listen to non-credible sources and websites.

I am rejecting this response because:

First of all there was no verbal information given about salvage car to my father or myself, secondly there was no paperwork included in my copies stating that this was a salvage vehicle, if the information was so openly given then why was I not provided a copy in my paperwork or made clear verbally the state of the vehicle to be sold, third of all the price of salvage vehicles should be half of that of a good condition vehicle of same year, make, and model.

On June 8th 2023 I sent my father to inquire about the *** 2016 terrain. Not once did they say the verbally say the vehicle was a salvage. After reviewing the Carfax that had stated there was one accident. I asked about damage visible on the vehicle it was stated it was due from towing the vehicle and the previous accident that the car had been in as shown in the carfax. Never once did they say verbally the vehicle had been salvaged when I asked about the damage referring to the Carfax. On June 9th 2023 I purchased the 2016 *** Terrain Denali for $19,567. from Carmart automotive LLC.  I would have never financed a rebuilt salvage vehicle if they was clearly stated it was salvage for that price I would have bought a different vehicle. After financing the price of the *** will be $ *********! At the dealership I was signing paperwork while simultaneously acquiring insurance for the vehicle and working with the finance company. It was the end of the day and I was being rushed through paperwork. When asked about when I would get the title ******** stated I would not get the title because I was financing the vehicle and it would be sent to the **** So I was never shown the title which would have indicated that it was a salvage title vehicle. I unknowingly signed paperwork that I believed was stating that there was damage to the vehicle and that I would not be getting the title. I asked to have copies of everything that I signed which they put into a folder.  A few days after purchasing the vehicle a piece on the rear end had become loose and I had taken the car back to the dealership . On that day my brother had accompanied me to the dealership because he knows about auto body. We had inquired about the damage again and **** of Carmart automotive aggressively talk to us in a manner that made me feel very uncomfortable. At no point did he reference that the car was a salvage vehicle. He simply referred to minor damage from the previous accident and towing. Again never stating that the vehicle was a salvage rebuild, just aggressively stating that the damage was from a minor accident.
On Feb 28, 2024 I began looking to refinance my loan. It was then it was brought to my awareness after being denied because this is a salvage title. Being unaware of what a savage title meant I began to do research. The Carmart automotive painted over the rebuilt stamp that is supposed to be physical visible on the car . They did not include any salvage title paperwork in the copies that they gave me. Salvage vehicles are supposed to be sold at a salvage price. Carmart automotive sold the car for more than what it was worth. March 1,2024 I then contacted ******** by phone.  He then text over a copy of the paper that I signed. I stated I would have never purchased a salvage vehicle at all! I told him the price should have been half of what a 2016 *** good condition market value car. Because I financed the vehicle I will now be paying three times what it is actually worth. I told him he was a dishonest in slipping that paperwork in and if he was not being sneaky then why was I not given a copy of said paperwork and for painting over the rebuild stamp on the car. I again asked for what he would be willing to do to make it right. He said he would do nothing because I signed a contract.  Very dishonest people, I pray God takes care of them.

    Sincerely,

    *************************

After reviewing the Carfax sent by the dealership it is a recent Carfax that they had just pulled up, if you scroll to page 8 you will see that the information about the salvage vehicle was not added to the Carfax until after I purchased the vehicle. Nowhere in the Carfax does it state that the vehicle was salvaged. Very shady and dishonest!
