We have been trying to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy for a new residential build. The Builder, Best Custom Homes, failed final inspection with Jefferson County due to wrong size windows being installed in the Master Bedroom (improper egress dimensions). Having Failed final inspection, we are unable to get C/O and therefore cannot get homeowners insurance on completed home. ******* will not pay for replacement window. This has still not been resolved for Nearly 4 months. Builder is not responding to phone calls and emails to rectify his mistakes. The Responsibility of following the Jefferson County building codes is clearly the responsibility of the General Contractor, but ***** Best is refusing to pay for the new Windows. He is trying to make us, the owners, pay for the windows that Best Custom Homes installed that were not to Code.

Best Custom Homes is working this out with the owner and replacing the Window in Question tomorrow. This is a 10k cost not a 250k cost as listed in the disputed amount.
The owners said they would rescind the complaint once the window is replaced.
