Based on information listed on their website that a particular vinegar was kosher, I ordered a mango white balsamic vinegar on July 2 for a cost $32.90. However, when I received the product, there was no kosher symbol on the bottle indicating that it was in fact not kosher. I called the company right away and spoke to a young woman who said she would get with the manager to inquire about this and she would get back to me. However, she never did. I waited a week and called again and spoke to Paul. He said he would look speak to the owner and call me back me back with an answer. He did call me back the next day (on Friday), however, I was not able to answer the phone. When I returned his call on Monday, I was told (by the same woman I initially spoke to who did not get back to me as promised) that he was out of the office for two days. I left my name and number for him to call me back, but as of today (Friday) he did not call me back. I again called today and was told Paul was out of the office. I relayed the situation to the person who answered the phone but he said he could not help me. It was obvious he did not care to help me. I also sent three messages through their "contact" section on the website explaining the situation and asking for a refund. This has been going on for three weeks and still there is no explanation as to why the product was listed on the website as kosher but in fact is not. Any person who keeps strictly kosher would not be able to consume a product that does not have a reliable kosher symbol on the label. I feel their website is deceptive in listing products as kosher when they do not seem to be.

      Customer Answer

I received a call from Paul today at Rocky Mountain Olive Oil.  He refunded my total purchase price including shipping. I am satisfied with this response but worry this could happen to other people because their website states the vinegar I ordered was kosher, but when I received it, there was no kosher symbol on the bottle, which means no Orthodox or observant Jew could consume the product.  They need to take the kosher notification off of their website or put the kosher symbol on their bottles.
