    I purchased tile for a project in 11/01/23 from Florida Tile located in Fort Collins, CO. Upon completion of the project I had 7 boxes of material left over. I attempted to return it to Florida Tile with the understanding that there would be a restocking fee. They would not take the product back stating that it was a "Special Order". With that, they could not take the remaining material or issue a refund.

    It was not disclosed that it was a "Special Order" either in writing or verbally to me or anyone that represents me. I feel they sold a bill of goods without any intention of providing a recourse for excess material. The value of the material is approximately $344.00.

    I am filing this complaint to get it on record that I believe their business practice is not forthcoming with information that the consumer should understand.

    Good Morning

    Thank you for sending this to my attention. For information we are a wholesale distribution branch for a manufacturer we do not do retail sales. This gentleman purchased his tile through one of our accounts, please see attached, so his claim should be through that account. This account allowed his customer to pay for the tile here,  so this customer was given a copy of the attached receipt, clearly stating the policy at the bottom. This policy is also posted in the customer service area in full.

    As his tile was purchased in November of 2023, he is well outside our 30 policy. In addition,  this tile was Special Ordered from an outside vendor, which was explained to him when he picked the tile out.  

    We are not unreasonable group and have in the past been more than willing to work with someone needing to return tile outside of this 30 day window. This particular gentleman came in demanding we take the tile back and screamed at the designer that assisted him in choosing the material making her cry. Our Manager diffused the situation after the gentleman screamed that we would be taking this back no matter what and walked him out to his vehicle so he could leave. He then told the manager that he would be calling corporate to get us all fired.

    We understand that is frustrating to have your contractor over order tile for you we did in fact give him all the information he would need to know about our return policies.
