We signed up with *** on 12/2018. A law firm/lawyer was assigned to us and we were told to stop all payments and communication with ********. An 18 month timeframe was stated. And then the pandemic happened. The years kept on passing and we weren't sure what was going on. ******** didn't bother us and we left it alone. We called *** owner a few times over the years but it was hard to connect. However, all the emails we sent over the years were answered within a few business days. Basically saying the same thing, be patient, things will get rolling again. On 9/2023 we received a notice from a law firm representing ******** stating default and intent to foreclose. This had us concerned since we were expecting a "release" letter. We emailed the information to the *** owner and he said this is the result we have been waiting for. So basically TYT guides you through the foreclosure process depending on terms and conditions of your specific timeshare. We had our personal lawyer review the notice. They auction/buyback the timeshare, our personal assets aren't involved, and we don't pay outstanding maintenance/late fees (our mortgage was paid off). Our lawyer said credit score may be affected but it shouldn't be too bad. We notified ********'s law firm to proceed with the foreclosure. On 4/2024 we received a notice that the timeshare had been auctioned off. The transaction has a DOC# and recorded by Orange County comptroller. This notice had many other names and timeshares on it.Buying a westgate timeshare was a huge mistake and I hope anyone reading this never ever gets taken in by their presentation. Better yet, don't even sign up to listen to a timeshare presentation. It took almost 6 years but we are rid of it. If not for the pandemic, it would have went a lot smoother. In any case, *** delivered on their contract.

In 2018 i paid $1500 to be released from my timeshare. I received many letters from the timeshare company stating that i was still the owner and owed the maintenance fees. *********************** owner of Trash Your Timeshare told me to just ignore the letters. It is now almost *********************************************************************************** legally. There is no way to contact Trash Your Timeshare now to get this resolved.

Unfortunately, this review is baseless and lacks any factual foundation. We've offered to provide BBB with evidence that this review does not represent the reality of the situation and feel very strongly that it should be removed. Here is the truth:We've communicated regularly with this client, in writing, in the same thread for years and there has never been any sort of lapse in ability to reach us. In fact, we reached out in that same thread after seeing this review (and being totally surprised by it) and received no response. We have addressed and taken the appropriate actions on every piece of correspondence that we have ever been provided with. The letter mentioned in the review was not provided to us to actually address, nor was it provided upon reaching out to her after seeing this review. To make matters worse, this review was submitted on the same day that she reached out to our company (despite the fact that she said there is no way to contact us), which means we didn't even get a chance to address the situation before she posted this. As if that weren't bad enough, she reached out to us the day before Thanksgiving, which you can verify for yourself by looking at the date of this review. So to summarize, she reached out to our company the day before a major holiday without providing any of the correspondence she supposedly needed assistance with and immediately left a bad review before we even had a chance to respond. She then lied about not being able to reach us, then didn't respond when we asked her to provide us with the documents that she claims she was being threatened with. For these reasons, we ask that you disregard this slanderous and frivolous review and wish that the BBB would remove it, given the circumstances and evidence we have to support our stance. Blatant lies and misrepresentation are damaging to our company's longstanding positive track record and should not be published publicly when they are proven to be baseless. In addition, we have over 100 positive reviews with a 99%+ positive rating that are no longer visible on our BBB page due to a questionable new policy that was implemented recently. The combination of these events is beyond disappointing and unfortunate, as again, it does not accurately reflect our company's values, image or track record, which should be the entire foundation of a review website.
